ItsAllTrueReview: Public Enemies Wave 2 (Brimstone)

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies. Remember that movie? It came out in September 2009. Six months ago. And roughly six months ago, we reviewed Wave One of the figures from the movie. Mattel wasn't exactly clear about the figures being split into two waves until around the time they hit and that left many fans unsure of when they would be able to complete Brimstone. For me, that was a few weeks ago. Our Target, after five months of sitting on an Icicle and a Banshee, received a case of wave two. I was lucky enough to snag the one Black Lightning and the one Major Force.

Mr. Rant’s “Bad Haul Day”

I feel defeated today. It’s been a busy week and this is the first time I’ve had a chance to sit down and open last week's Matty figures.

Now, I don’t expect perfection. That’s an impossible order. But I do expect equal pay out for the amount of money I spend. These Matty toys are supposedly a “collector’s” line. But I’m not even sure if Mattel knows what that means sometimes

Superman/Batman Public
Enemies Wave 1 (Target )

The Public Enemies wave wasn't something I was terribly excited about when it was first revealed. I wanted Brimstone as soon as I saw him, and still do, but I wasn't that interested in the stylized DC Classics figures that stood between me and the Engine of Destruction. Now that I've had them in hand for a day, my opinions have shifted a bit and I might be able to find some room on my shelves for a few of the figures, particularly if it's the only version they're ever going to receive.

DC Classics Updates
and a Gleek Mini-Review

Some folks tend to avoid the internet on the weekends. If you're one of them and you collect DC Classics, you might have missed a few important news items. On Thursday, we relayed Matty's message about DCUC9 shortages and then watched as the prices on eBay climbed accordingly. We're in between on how difficult this wave will be to find. Vault stumbled onto a case at his TRU on Wednesday and found the first half of his Chemo set. That filled the rest of with hope that this wave won't be a repeat of DCUC5 which none of us ever saw at retail, but we won't know for sure until the sightings dry up.
