Gallery 1988: Great artwork, some hints, new accessories, and the May Club Eternia Figure!
Last week, many fans were anxiously awaiting the opening of G88's MOTU Art Show on Friday night due to a tip from Matty that one of two SDCC Exclusive figures would be revealed there. Unfortunately, Matty informed us on Friday morning that a complication had arisen and that SDCC reveal would not be possible. Luckily, Mattel was able to recover and did not disappoint - unless you're one of those folks that takes the term "Classics" literally when it comes to MOTU Classics! We at IAT see the entire line and all past incarnations as one giant MOTUverse and we're not afraid to say we were excitedly exchanging texts and phone calls as the images rolled in. Let's just say Matty gave us more than a few goodies to make up for the missing SDCC figure.

Before we dive into 2010's Requests, we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who voted in our 2009 Poll. The response was so enormous that we wanted to do things right this year and streamline the process. The truth is we didn't conceive the year-end poll when we started. Had we known, we'd have made some different choices. For the 2010 Most Requested Figure we're going to continue with the weekly nominations and have three runoffs (in April, August, and early December) to nominate five choices from each three-four month period. Towards the end of December, we'll start the semi-final rounds and then crown our 2010 winner on January 3rd, 2011. We hope to have all of you along with us the whole way and encourage you to submit your ideas for Most Requested Figure to us via
Matty: "Just got in our final sample of Moss Man! We know fans have been waiting to see how the flock turned out. We really pushed the limits to flock as much as possible. Enjoy the shots!"
Waiting, waiting, waiting is all I seem to be doing lately. I ordered a case of DCUC11 from Matty on December 23rd. I realized when I ordered them that it was too close to Christmas to expect them anytime soon. To Matty’s credit, they had them ready for shipment rather quickly, but UPS dropped the ball. The tracking number told me my figures arrived in my hometown on New Year’s Eve’s Eve, and there they sat, until yesterday. Apparently UPS didn’t feel obligated to deliver residential stuff so close to either holiday. And picking them up myself would just be too easy for them to allow. So there they sat, a few miles from my home for six days.
