Most Requested Figures:
More 25th Joes!!

Sometimes as toy collectors, we can look across our displays and only see the toys that aren’t there. They are the missing figures. The characters toy companies never got around to, never thought were important enough, or worse – the figures companies felt the need to show us at comicon in the “We’re Never Gonna Make These” case. Saturdays are for these figures…

If you've been coming to the site recently, you know that the ItsAllTrue Crew had a great time at JoeCon. We had a ton of fun, particularly being there first-hand when Hasbro revealed Pursuit of Cobra for 2010. There's some great figures coming up. Even if you're turned off by the movie-based theme, there should have been one or two figures in there that weakened your resolve just a little bit. I know I saw a ton of stuff I want now: ROC Beachhead, the Jungle Viper, "kills you from a 1000 ft" Snowjob, Arctic Shipwreck, Firefly, City Strike Scarlett, Zartan, Arctic Destro... just to name a "few".

Truetorial: Collect & Connect
Darkseid is a Tall Order

This is ItsAllTrue.Net's first Truetorial feature. Truetorials will be op/ed columns that discuss a particular topic in-depth. This column was one of the first things we wanted to do here at ItsAllTrue, but the website has had other plans for us and we're happy to follow where it leads. But we've got some time now that the convention season is wrapping up and we thought it was time to give the Truetorial a spin. We're not ready to give it a regular day yet, but if we like it, you should be seeing them on a regular basis. Just think of them as a kinder, gentler companion piece to Tuesday's Mr. Rant.

City 5pk (Wal-Mart Exclusive)

Every once in awhile, living in Uncle Wally's backyard pays off. I had precious little to do this afternoon, so I grabbed the car keys and headed off to see how the Wal-Mart resets were coming along at the various stores around me. I hit up my eight closest Wal-Marts (it's not really that far, if you have a town of 10k or so, you're awarded a 24 Supercenter around these parts) and was happy to find DC Classics pegs popping up at quite a few of them.

Most of the pegs were empty, and the ones that did have figures only had the "Best Of" case to clog the pegs before Wave 9 arrives, but I have a feeling Wave 9 (and Wave 10) aren't going to be an issue - at least in our neck of the woods. I'm a little concerned about the 5pk distribution though, because of the eight Wal-Marts I traveled to five had set pegs for DC Classics, but so far only one had shelfspace for the DCUC 5pk. I lucked out today though, because that one store had the 5pk too.

Mr. Rant asks
“What would you do?”

We’re going to do something a little different today. Usually, I write my articles about something that frustrates, annoys, or upsets me. Since a lot of things in this world fit into those three categories, I’m never without something to talk about. But, every great once in a while, something happens in life and I don’t quite know how to react. This is one of those times...

Last Friday, the ItsAllTrue Crew headed up to Kansas City for the 2009 G.I. Joe Convention. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Even I had a pretty good time, except for one thing: the parachute drop.

IAT on the Road: GI Joe Con ’09
Kansas City – Final Round Up!

JoeCon is over and the ItsAllTrueCrew couldn't have had a better time. From the parachute drop, to the various panels, to some of the coolest new Joes, and to meeting Larry Hama, it was really one thrill after another. We've got pictures from all the major events we attended as well as some pictures from the floor and the various booths. AdventureVault has given us his lowdown on Friday's Hasbro Panel - check it out and if you have any questions, post them and we'll do our best to answer with what we remember. Finally, we round out our JoeCon Coverage with two reviews: the SDCC Destro 2pk and the International Jump Jet 2pk.

G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra
SDCC Destro 2pk

This Destro 2pk is sort of a double bonus for us. On the one hand, it's eighth in our ten part series featuring the 2009 SDCC exclusives. On the other, it's parts of JoeCon Weekend Coverage! You'll find links to both our prior SDCC Exclusive Week Coverage as well as our coverage of the 2009 GI Joe Convention at the end of this review. When I was deciding where I wanted to set the bar for which ROC figures to get (Oh, ROC Para-Viper, where are you?), it turned out that the unmasked Destro was above it. I just like the look of the suited figure. Plus, it's Christopher Eccleston. Plus, we've got that running Couture gag going. In all, it seemed like I should pick up a set and since they were openly available on HTS, I went for it. For $25, it's a bit much for a Joe 2pk, but there are a lot of neat extras that make up for the cost, starting with the box...
