Before we dive into 2010's Requests, we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who voted in our 2009 Poll. The response was so enormous that we wanted to do things right this year and streamline the process. The truth is we didn't conceive the year-end poll when we started. Had we known, we'd have made some different choices. For the 2010 Most Requested Figure we're going to continue with the weekly nominations and have three runoffs (in April, August, and early December) to nominate five choices from each three-four month period. Towards the end of December, we'll start the semi-final rounds and then crown our 2010 winner on January 3rd, 2011. We hope to have all of you along with us the whole way and encourage you to submit your ideas for Most Requested Figure to us via e-mail. We may not be able to get to all submissions, but each one will get due consideration from the IAT staff. Now, with that out of the way, let's take a look at our first request of 2010...

We're a little behind on reviews because of the holidays, so we're going with an Amusing Articulation / ItsAllTrueReview chimera. If we did this right the pictures will work as a funny gag while the text takes a more serious look at the toys. Or not, we'll see what happens. Most Requested Year-End Poll: The Winner

Last year, we featured eighteen Most Requested articles asking for figures from all over the toy kingdom. The requests ranged from cancelled lines to current lines, from 2" Minimates to 8" Hellboy figures, and we even threw in a juice drink for good measure. At the end of the year, we decided to start our first annual tradition, a runoff between those requests to see which one was really the Most Requested Figure of 2009. We let our readers decide who deserved that top spot.

After two rounds, and over a thousand votes cast, we have the results and are ready to announce our winner.

This year, we've featured eighteen Most Requested articles. And although we really wanted each and everything we asked for, we also want to know which of the Most Requested Figures really is the most requested. And the best part is, you get to decide.

Before we get into the nominess, we decided on one ground rule. The figure still must require a request - they can't be announced/scheduled in anyway. This disqualified Martian Manhunter as his barcode is present in the Wal-Mart computers. We considered disqualifying Ghostbusters minimates, as two of the ones requested are in the third 4pk, but we've left it in as there are plenty of others that could use minimate treatment.

Retro Review: DC Classics

One of the features we wanted to have since we began was a complete review archive of DC Classics. At the outset, we also conceived the idea of a Retro Review, a feature where we'd spend some time on old toy from yesteryear (wait until you see SilntAngl's review of the 1987 G.I. Joe Techno-Viper).

Well, the two ideas seemed fairly congruent and we decided that the first batch of Retro Reviews would work backwards from DC Classics Wave 7 until the beginning. That was the plan anyway. Some technical issues have forced us to skip Wave 7 (for now). So, what better than to get the most difficult-to-find, gnashing of teeth wave out of the way first? Yep, our very first retroview will focus on the ire of many a DCUC collector, the Wal-Mart Exclusive Wave 5.
