DC Direct Blackest Night Series 7 & 8

As part of Monday's DC solicits, DC Direct announced two new waves of Blackest Night figures, wave seven in November and wave eight in December. With wave six already on the schedule for November 3rd, that's going to make for an avalanche of new figures right before the holidays. There's some nice surprises including an oversized Arkillo, a 2-pack of smaller figures, more Black Lanterns, and more deputized lanterns including the very first Mera, our 2009 Most Requested Figure, in 6" form!

Adventure Vault Talks Blackest Night

Almost one year later, the longest night ever in the DC Universe has finally come to an end with Blackest Night #8. I wouldn’t call what I’m writing a review, so much as my thoughts on what happened, but mostly I want to examine where I feel the DC Universe is going. I’ll be referencing the events of the story and its tie-in books, so reader be warned: Thar be SPOILERS ahead.

With Mattel not having access to upcoming DC events until they happen, DC Direct has been given the chance to strike when the iron is hot and produce figures much closer to what's relevant in the current storylines then Mattel can. DC Direct is taking advantage of this with the New Krypton* (via ActionFigureInsider.Com) line and, of course, with Blackest Night.

* - I don't even know anything about that white cloaked Superwoman, but I like the figure a lot!

ItsAllTrueReview: DCUC11 Green Lanterns: Kilowog, John Stewart, & Katma Tui

We're still a little backed up so instead of our usual two-at-a-time reviews, we're attempting a rare three-at-a-time DCUC11 review to catch up. We're pretty sure we can pull it off. We're trained professionals (bwa-ha-ha-ha) and we've been working hard and ordering in all weekend.*

* - If working hard means playing video games and being glued to the internet for Gallery 1988 MOTU pictures, then we were definitely working very, very hard.

We're kicking things off in a big way with the three Green Lanterns from Wave Eleven: John Stewart, Katma Tui, and the big guy himself, the Collect & Connect Kilowog!

Most Requested Year-End Poll: The Finals

Last week, we featured our eighteen Most Requested articles and let you decide which three would be featured in this final round for the IAT Most Requested Figure of 2009.

Before we get to the finalists, we want to thank the hundreds of people that voted in our poll. It was the largest poll turnout we've had yet!

Here are the the finalists in alphabetical order...
