Because this is primarily a toy blog, I don't get to show off my love for Ghostbusters as often as I'd like. For years, my Ghostbusters needs had to be satiated with stickers, buttons, t-shirts, etc. Well, thanks to Mattel and Diamond Select, that's starting to change. We're getting figures and minimates this year and it feels like we're at the beginning of two really solid Ghostbusters collections.

For minimates, not only have they released movie-based mates, but they delved into a few ghosts from the new video game as well. The game picks up a couple years after Ghostbusters II ended (and might bridge the gap to Ghostbusters III). Without spoiling too much, I'll let you know that the game is heavily tied into the events of both films. If you haven't played the game, you might not know exactly who these ghosts are, but you've seen some of their handiwork in the films...

Mr. Rant says I thought we were past “female figures don’t sell”.

Apparently, it’s 1950 and boys don’t play with girl action figures. At least, that’s the way Mattel still sees it for a few of their lines.

If you are a fan of the Secret Saturdays or Batman: Brave and the Bold, don’t get your hopes up for a complete set of characters. Mattel’s display cases were noticeably absent a Drew Saturday, a main character on the show, and Black Canary or Huntress from the crazy-popular Brave and the Bold cartoon. When asked, Mattel said the lines are primarily intended for young boys, and no female characters were planned. In the Brave and the Bold: Action League line, a poster was shown with a ton of new characters and not a woman in sight.

With this chart, you can look ahead to see what Matty is releasing when and know when you can save on shipping as well as when you need to save up! The three checklists feature a visual guide to the figures as well as release information and any other specific info that might be relevant. The Ghostbusters and MOTU Classics pages also feature a news section for the latest updates from Mattel.

Fourth in our five part series featuring the eighth wave of DC Universe Classics, this review covers the red and green Parademons.

To be completely forthcoming about my red Parademon review, I need to tell you all something. Tomorrow, I'll be 29 years old. I tell you this because twenty-four years ago, I got some Super Powers figures for my birthday. One of them was the Parademon. So, you should know that if this review sounds overly positive about a certain red one and a little less impressed with a certain green one, it's only because I'm completely biased. I do understand the canonical importance of the green Parademon and I do appreciate it. But I didn't have bills or a job when I was five years old and that Red Parademon reminds me of those good times. Now, on to the review...
