MattyCollector.Com Updates: DCUC12, Moss Man, & Walter Peck

While I was busy being enraptured by the crazy speculation going on at the Org over the latest 2pk news, I left out some important updates from Matty via MattyCollector.Com regarding items on sale in March. And I may have to change out this Matty graphic. Since the forums have opened, all these updates are from MattyCollector.Com and not Facebook...

Truetorial: DC Classics & Walmart –
A Match Made Without Variants

I'm ambivalent on the Mattel/Wal-Mart partnership. I really don't care if they keep getting exclusives or not. I live practically on top of Wal-Mart HQ and have dozens of stores within a reasonable driving distance, but that doesn't make it easy to find the exclusives. I didn't get DCUC5 first hand. I had to buy the Giant Man figures and Nemesis figures while traveling in other states. And I know that even though DCUC10 was easier to find for a lot of fans, the bad taste DCUC5 left in the mouths of most collectors is still fresh enough that even I cringed at the announcement that DCUC14 would also be exclusive to the retailer. But I'm not writing about whether there should or shouldn't be Wal-Mart waves today. That ship has sailed, so I'm moving on too. But I do have a problem with some of the figures that go into Wal-Mart waves.

ItsAllTrueReview: Dark Knight Harvey Dent (Movie Masters)

On January 15th, I anxiously awaited 11am CST. I was ready to order Battle Armor He-Man and reissue Beast Man. The time came and the RSOD started up, but I kept on trucking. I got the items in my cart. I checked out. I paid. I was done! In the excitement, I somehow failed to notice that a Harvey Dent had found his way into my cart. Had I put it there? Had Digital River's server gotten befuddled and added one for me? I'll never know.

ItsAllTrue.Net Toy Run: Case of the Missing DC Classics…

We're going to try something a little different today. Well, it's not really different then what we normally do, but we don't usually take pictures. You know the drill. You get up and you think you could get lucky today. You get ready and put on some nice clothes so you can at least feel presentable if you happen to get checked out. You hop in the car and travel to whichever place you've deemed best to satisfy your desires. You arrive with giddy anticipation. It's now or never, you tell yourself as you round that last corner. What awaits? Will it be great joy or intense dissatisfaction?
That's right, you're on a Toy Run!

Mr. Rant asks “Are DCUC Fans Second-Class Collectors?”

“Why are Moss Man’s ears fuzzy,” was the cry of many a teary-eyed MOTU Fan on the .Org and at the Facebook page last week. Me? I don’t really care either way. I know how the industry works in regards to prototypes and my subscription was submitted months ago. Some version of Moss Man is coming no matter what and personally I don’t care if I can see his ears or not. I was surprised at how much flocking Mattel had been able to load him up with. This, as I recall, was what fans wanted when we first heard there would be problems. But instead of being grateful that Mattel was able to deliver an almost completely flocked (and very vintage) Mossy or reasonable that it would be an easy fix, the noisiest among us MOTU fans tore their clothes and gnashed their teeth because his ears had disappeared under a layer of flock. Always a classy bunch.
