SDCC Armchair Coverage:
The Monday After Links! (Over 250!)

Another San Diego Comic-Con has wrapped up and it’s time again for the “Morning After” links! This may be my last year of Armchair Coverage (newer technology has let the attending sites get better & better at getting pictures up and information out that I think it’s barely needed anymore), but it’s been a lot of fun seeing everything and picking out the links every year.

I went into this year’s SDCC feeling more than a little burned out – the collecting, the costs, the mountain of stuff; I’d hoped that SDCC would be reinvigorating and, to an extent it was. I saw plenty of exciting things. Mattel stole the show with Snake Mountain (talk about costs & space), some great figure debuts, and the Thundercats announcement. Hasbro… I haven’t had a lot of time to look at their Star Wars stuff just yet, Transformers had some highlights, but it was Marvel Legends that truly impressed. Some great figures, fun BAFs – it’s a line that I swore I would’ve been done with a few years ago.

Speaking of swearing off things, the other fun things to see included DST’s Ghostbusters, DCC’s Animated Line, and Mattel going back to the DC Classics buck. All of those were things I thought were over and done, but they’re back and in way that is still gonna cost me money. Crazy days.

Alright, enough rambling, we’ve surely cleared that left-aligned photo over there and it can’t mess up the tables anymore! On to the links! For this year, we ended up with 252 links from fifteen sites:

    1. Thanks for your work, I am looking forward to the link collection every time (including ToyFair) 😉

    2. Great job! I was beginning to wonder if TMNT got any coverage this year. I hadn’t heard much from it. Looking forward to watching Danny’s video.

    3. Enjoyed all reveals but one bit of news was sad. The Sentai Figuarts look to be dead in the water thanks to the ranger fans or basically lack of wanting to see any later groups past zyuranger. With teams needing finished (Jetman, Dairanger, Hurricanger, Boukenger (atleast think only guys released), Dekaranger, and the 1st team Goranger) surprised just don’t finisb these and add a fan vote slip and forget the pr fans.

Kamen Rider looks a okay though. Know the 2.0s on many I wanna get. Man these things are pricey but fun.

    4. There has been so many great reveals and products demanding Ii them. Obviously Thundercats stole the show for me and the MOTUC were second. But the Marvel Legends, DC Icons, Batman Animated and the DST Ghostbusters are now on my want list. Toynami’s new Voltron looks amazing and the Robotech figures look nice. I was pretty disappointed with TMNT as I wanted to see more Classics like Shredder etc.
