Last year I resolved to save up and go to Toypocalypse 3 & NYTF. Now it turned out that I was a little too good at collecting money and my wife insisted we buy a new house… well, at least I’m stuck at home this weekend and can show off a Power Lords Sneak Peek for tonight!
This evening I was starting to put together a quick round-up of Pre-Toy Fair news for the lines I collect, primarily MOTU & DC. I was really in a groove when Mattel/Digital River inadvertently made their Toy Fair images available early. I tossed out what I'd written and started over from scratch.
While Noisy is busy draining his wallet on MP Transformers, my funds are condemned to a different fate. I’m not really sure when I'll have to tap out (Biollante will probably test that), but for now I’m pretty happy to currently complete my collection with Godzilla Junior.
If I’ve learned anything from moving into my first home, it’s that I’ll be unpacking for the rest of my life. Seriously. Every time I think of an old figure I need for a review, it’s inevitably adrift somewhere in the cardboard sea in my garage. For Dice’s review, that sorta became the theme.
It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve bought a DC figure at retail. After Classics was canceled, I pretty much just glaze over that aisle on my way to the Marvel section. So I was a bit shocked to see a new Superman staring back at me during my last trip to TRU.
When I get into conversations with fellow collectors and regular readers, they’re often surprised to find about some of the “other” lines I collect. See, the truth is, I’ve been holding out on you guys. Some toys I collect never seem to find their way onto the site. Masterpiece Transformers is one of those lines.
In my efforts to get caught up on my backlog of reviews, I thought it might be a good idea to throw December’s Club Infinite Earths offerings into one big review. It seemed only naturally since Mattel chose that month to (nearly) complete the Metal Men with Lead, Platinum and sorta-Tin.
