Most Requested Round Two
The Semi-Finalists are…

Another round of Most Requested is over. The selected reader requests were placed in a head-to-head vote and with nearly 2000 votes cast, the finalists going on to December have been decided. Which requests fell on deaf ears? Which requests will join our Round One winners? It’s time to find out.

Before we reveal the winners, let’s take a look at where the runners-up fell:

Twelfth Place Eleventh Place Tenth Place
Ninth Place Eighth Place
Seventh Place Sixth Place Fifth Place

As always, we’re never quite sure how our readers are going to vote and continually get surprised by the results. There are some of these that we thought would do better while others we didn’t think would be nearly as high as they ended up. This may be the last we see of most of these requests, but it may not be over for Happy Hogan. There’s some debate around the IAT Offices as to whether or not we should disqualify Panthor from Round One. He hasn’t been ‘officially’ announced, but Toy Guru had made it all but clear that he will be released in 2011. If we do decide to remove Panthor from the running, Happy Hogan is our official first alternate for the Final Round this December.

And the Four Semi-Finalists Are…

Fourth Place Third Place Second Place
First Place

The results this year ended up in pretty tight clusters with just a handful of votes separating winners from losers in some cases. The tightest vote turned out to be for the fourth spot. Just three votes made the difference between Gangbuster being in and Happy Hogan being out. But both of those guys were light years behind the top three which were never in question since day one, often switching places throughout the competition. But in the key closing hours, the Freedom Fighters made a push for some separation from the pack and took the top spot. Once DCUC has the Doom Patrol and Metal Men wrapped up, it seems fans are more than ready for Mattel to choose the Freedom Fighters as the next DC team to get figure treatment. I’m curious though, if we had a Freedom Fighter run-off, who would win? An easy poll for Uncle Sam or could one of the other characters knock him off?

As always, we want to remind you that we take nominations for “Most Requested” from your e-mails and feedback! And we’re still looking for the last twelve contenders for Round Three! If you’ve got a suggestion, please don’t hesitate to email us or post in our Most Requested Thread on the IAT forums! If you don’t see a favorite listed here, send it in to us and we may use it for the third and final round!

  1. Not surprised by the results at all except maybe Gangbuster. I’d love to see COPS comeback. No mention of any of the write-ins?

  2. I got Sue in the Top Four at least. I’m a bit biased as I voted for Happy Hogan, but I think you should strike Panthor since he is coming.

  3. The only Freedom Fighters I am interested in are the Ray and Uncle Sam. I really wanted a Mustafa tho. πŸ™ Happy Hogan would have been my second choice to continue my real life action figure ambitions.

    1. We’ll have some Real Life people in Round Three, so your hopes aren’t dashed!

And we’ve talked it over and decided that Panthor should be out, so Happy is back in.

  4. remind me again why sue storm is on this list, having had at least two very good figures to my memory?

    1. Because a Marvel Universe Fantastic Four display looks ridiculous when you put an ML Sue with the three little MU guys? It’s the same as if we got a request for a DCIH Hawkgirl despite their being a good DCUC Hawkgirl.

  5. Yay, C.O.P.S.!

Phantom Lady (Sandra Knight or Dee Tyler) is the only Freedom Fighter I’d consider buying.

  6. my votes:
Micronauts – I still have my customs. [insert demented cackling and plastic huggings]

    Happy – Jon’s not a Favreau-ite? (they can’t all be winners, folks)

Gangbuster – I want a removable helmet and variant heads of Jose Delgado and Kal.

    Sue – c’mon, too easy.

    and the winner: Freedom Fighters
Sam – easy G.Ghost/Joker redeco (koffALFREDkoff)
Miss America – might have some naming rights deliberations, but bonus: WW-Diana used this as a cover identity once!
Black Condor – the crazy backstory US Senator from Nepal, the eugenics experiment, or the new guy?
Ray – we’ve had other variants like Starmen Ted and Jack, why not Happy and Ray? Heck, Ray already has several costume changes over the years for variants!
Phantom Lady – …..um….not gonna say it. πŸ˜‰
RED BEE – you know you all want him just as much as…
Human Bomb – can I get a “HELL YEAH!”?
