Wait, wait, wait. Yeah, it's a toy blog, and yeah, we want more toys. Blah. Blah. Blah. But you know what else? We get thirsty too. And we don't mean knock back a few and go on a drunken toy run. No, we're talking about a drink from our youth. Heck, we're talking liquid childhood here. It's the 25th Anniversary of Ghostbusters, right? We've got blu-ray. We've got new toys. We've got minimates. We've got a video game. But you know what we don't have? Ecto-Cooler.

Most Requested Figures: Ghostbusters Minimates

Sometimes as toy collectors, we can look across our displays and only see the toys that aren’t there. They are the missing figures. The characters toy companies never got around to, never thought were important enough, or worse – the figures companies felt the need to show us at comicon in the “We’re Never Gonna Make These” case. Saturdays are for these figures…

We here at ItsAllTrue.Net were happy to find Wave 2 at TRU over the weekend and the Ghostbusters shelf is filling up pretty quickly for such a relatively new toyline. We looked ahead to see which figures were still to come and were surprised to find that we're only six figures away from the "current" end of the line. And barely that, since two of the six are identical to ones we have, and three are different versions of characters we already have. That leaves Gozer, if you're counting with us.

Ghostbusters Classics (SDCC):
Slimed Egon Spengler Review

For awhile now, I've been buying DC "Super Powers" Classics, 25th Anniversary Joes, MOTU Classics, and others. It's like a second childhood. I loved the toys as a kid and I love them again now when they've been rebuilt for my "adult" sensibilities (and my "I have a job" wallet). But if you asked me what my favorite show/movie was as a kid, I would've answered Ghostbusters.

Ghostbusters Video Game
Minimates (& SDCC Blank!)

Because this is primarily a toy blog, I don't get to show off my love for Ghostbusters as often as I'd like. For years, my Ghostbusters needs had to be satiated with stickers, buttons, t-shirts, etc. Well, thanks to Mattel and Diamond Select, that's starting to change. We're getting figures and minimates this year and it feels like we're at the beginning of two really solid Ghostbusters collections.

For minimates, not only have they released movie-based mates, but they delved into a few ghosts from the new video game as well. The game picks up a couple years after Ghostbusters II ended (and might bridge the gap to Ghostbusters III). Without spoiling too much, I'll let you know that the game is heavily tied into the events of both films. If you haven't played the game, you might not know exactly who these ghosts are, but you've seen some of their handiwork in the films...
