I finally found some Comic Series II! In the last few weeks, I've been mocked by more Classic and light-up armors than you would believe. I've been tortured by unusable $5 off stickers. I've looked through pegs and pegs of IM2 toys and not found much new... and it's been kinda fun!
Masters of the Universe was inducted into the ToyFare Hall of Fame at WWPhilly today. And while we hope some original creators were on hand too, it did give Toy Guru the opportunity to reveal September's Club Eternia Figure: Chief Carnivus. Official pics will be up Monday, but Pendragon's Post has pictures and news from today's event. In addition to Carnivus in September, Mattel also revealed the Fall Schedule (minus the who). We've updated MOTUClassics.Com with the new info and here's a look at the figure.
Do you know where you were when Mattel announced these 3pks? Do you even remember when it was? At SDCC? In ToyFare magazine? I don’t even remember anymore. I just remember Mattel seeing them and being excited about finally getting Cheetah, to get another shot at Shade, a Warhawk, a new Batman Beyond, and most importantly, Old Bruce. I’d been waiting for that figure since 1999. Little did I know that it was going to be more than a year before I’d actually find one.
With the announcements of Voltron and Thundercats dropping recently, I'm feeling that way a little bit right now.
As we work to make DCClassics.Com a complete review archive, we occasionally have to turn back the clock and review figures that were released before IAT was founded. This week, we're taking a look at the third wave of DC Classics, the Solomon Grundy wave. I pieced Grundy together in late 2008 at a time when I wasn't very happy with the line overall. In "favorite wave" polls, I usually see this one ranking high, if not first, in the results. I always find that funny, because Wave Three almost got me to drop the line.
