Vault Review: Jack Skellington (Sci-Fi Revoltech #005)

In 1993, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas hit theatres. Since then, NBX fans have been able to buy multiple DVDs, video games, t-shirts, bath towels, gum - an endless variety of products adorned with images of Halloween Town. If you’ve ever been to a Hot Topic, you’ve probably wondered what hasn’t been made in the Nightmare Before Christmas image. The latest in that long line of merchandise is Sci-Fi Revoltech #005, Jack Skellington.

The Outer Space Men:
Mel Birnkrant Interview

The Outer Space Men, the classic creation of Mel Birnkrant, are headed back into your collection as a new line sculpted and produced by Four Horsemen Studios. Here at IAT, we weren't familiar with the original line and wanted to learn more about it to help us appreciate the new versions. We were fascinated by what we learned, but we still had a few more questions. For those answers, we turned to the greatest resource there is on the Outer Space Men, Mel Birnkrant himself.

This Week in the Green Room

  • We've relaunched our visual DC & MOTU checklists as DCClassics.Com & MOTUClassics.Com!
  • We won't have a regular IAT review of Walter Peck (more on that later), but Lay Ze-Man was kind of enough to post some pictures of his Peck on our forum if you'd like to take a look.
  • Our Marvel thread is overrun by wishlists. I feel bad because I omitted US Agent from my post...
  • Hasbro's new Hiss Tank is getting closer to release. I was there for the unveiling last year and it's an awesome piece. I'm glad Hasbro is finally making room on the schedule for it.

Vault Review: Lego Kingdoms Review (#7950, 7953, 7955)

I couldn’t give you an exact age of when I got my first Lego set, but I they were some of my earliest toys. Looking back among my early sets, I can tell you I’ve always gravitated towards the Castle theme. Sure, I had some City and Space, but I always ended up with more Castle. As an adult collector, not much has changed. Although I was a fan of the Fantasy Castle theme, I couldn’t be happier to see the classic Castle return under the new marquee of Kingdoms.

Vault Review: Jazwares
A-Team Van & B.A. Baracus

As a kid, I only had a tangential knowledge of the show. I remember the opening theme and Mr. T as B.A. Baracus, of course, but I can’t remember sitting down and watching it. I did have a few of the toys. I had the larger Galoob Mr. T and, for some reason, I have accessories from the 3" line, although I have no idea who’s they are. Despite my not having a lot of fond memories, I still love the A-Team. When Jazwares announced their new movie line, I couldn't wait to check them out.
