As you can guess by the content here at IAT, I’m a little more keyed in on the Mattel reveals than other companies. While Digital River spoiled most of Mattel’s Toy Fair news (though I’ve heard some say it was done purposefully), the panel still proved important for the info to go along with the images.
While technically not part of a Toy Fair proper, Four Horsemen's Toypocalypse 3: has quickly become one of the most anticipated parts of the weekend. I’m honestly sadder I missed it again this year than Toy Fair itself. I made it up for it by finding plenty of links to coverage!
Today, I followed the Hasbro Fan Media panel like pretty much all of you, from home, and it seemed like it was going on forever. I can only imagine how the guys in the audience were feeling. Though I imagine it’s easier to endure with they keep showing you cool toy pics! Now, it’s our turn.
Last year I resolved to save up and go to Toypocalypse 3 & NYTF. Now it turned out that I was a little too good at collecting money and my wife insisted we buy a new house… well, at least I’m stuck at home this weekend and can show off a Power Lords Sneak Peek for tonight!
This evening I was starting to put together a quick round-up of Pre-Toy Fair news for the lines I collect, primarily MOTU & DC. I was really in a groove when Mattel/Digital River inadvertently made their Toy Fair images available early. I tossed out what I'd written and started over from scratch.
Review Roundup has a healthy slice of oddballs this week ranging from a vintage Fort Apache to the amazing Armorvor. There’s also a healthy Joe section, plenty of great Marvel reviews (so much new stuff… ugh!), and professional jealousy strikes in the form of Hot Toys Reviews!
While Noisy is busy draining his wallet on MP Transformers, my funds are condemned to a different fate. I’m not really sure when I'll have to tap out (Biollante will probably test that), but for now I’m pretty happy to currently complete my collection with Godzilla Junior.
