Friday Five 9/18: Links You Need to Know About

It’s time for Five Links You Need to Know About. During the week, we see all sorts of cool or exciting things and we share those links here with our readers every Friday…

  • Tips to Find DCUC 9 and Pics of Chemo Variant @ ActionFigurePics – Samuron has a great article on his site about how he was able to snag DCUC9 after the BBTS shortage. Check out his site for some good tips on how to find the figures you need. Plus, he has the first clear pictures of the differences between the Chemo variations that I’ve seen. The insert inside the Chemo really improves the figure and Samuron’s photos have closeups of the two versions to let you know the difference.
  • Action by Design Customs Forum – This is a new forum that’s dedicated to custom figures. I haven’t had time to look around at all the posts, but there’s plenty of good customs there for viewing (reg. req’d). The folks behind the site would like to make it a central forum for customizers to share their work, as well provide tips and other advice independent of any one scale or toyline. Seems cool so far, and I’m interested to see what they do next.
  • A Snake Among Us Strip @ Articulated Discussion – AD has been running this strip for a few weeks now. It’s a photoplay based around the ROC Helix character. I really can’t tell you too much more without spoiling it, but let me say that “Dave the Paraviper” is my favorite character so far.
  • The Great MOTU Debate, Revisited @ PoeGhostal.Com – Poe’s gathered up some of his contributors to follow-up on their opinions of the MOTU line and how they might have changed over the last year. Once you’re there, be sure to follow Poe’s links to the original discussions too. Interesting stuff.
  • Buck Rogers in the 25th Century @ MWCToys.Com – Vault’s a big fan of the classic Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, so a toy based on that property is right up his alley. That’s if you can call the piece of art this figure is a toy. Check out Michael Crawford’s site for his usual high-caliber review on Go Hero’s latest offering.
  • There’s our five for today! Please check ’em out and let us know what you think! And if you have a link that you think should be showcased, drop us a line at fridayfive@itsalltrue.net.

      1. i should point out, that yes, registration is required to view the whole site, but there is stuff that you can view as a guest, and more fun stuff to view as a member…lots of stuff…come by and check us out…

    1. I don’t know why everyone prefers the variant of Chemo with the insert. To me the “empty” version looks vastly superior.
