One More Checklist Before Toy Fair: Marvel Hot Toys!

One quick update before I go to bed and wake up tomorrow ready to work all weekend and then spend whatever time I’m not at work drooling over the pics spinning out of New York’s Toy Fair! Though, I gotta tell ya, it doesn’t feel much like Toy Fair without hearing all my friend’s travel/horror/snow stories… is that a good omen or a bad one?

So the last checklist isn’t quite done, but I’m not going to be working on it again until after Toy Fair’s over and I wanted to have everything posted before Toy Fair hits. Though I don’t often review them for the site (and I really should), I’m in love with the Hot Toys from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. They’re fantastic representations and they’re amazing to look at, play with, & photograph. They’re also very pricey and so I’m forced to be very choosy – I can’t imagine anyone that has most or all of them, but I wasn’t happy with the checklist resources available for collecting them. That lit a fire and IAT now hosts a handy table which features all 98 releases (so far) with images, their production #, which film they hail from, their release year, and will eventually list all the accessories they included (that’s the part that’s only about a third done). Unlike most of the other checklists, it’s not been given a cardback theme. There wasn’t one single idea that I fell in love with, so I went with a table. The upside is that it’s sortable and searchable, so you could type in “Captain America” and the table will filter to just the releases from the Cap movies. I always like playing with that part.

Marvel Collectors, do note that while the Hot Toys logo now appears in the Guide link to the right, that button will now take you to a Marvel Checklist Directory Page which lists the various Marvel checklits. The Hot Toys one is not replacing the MU one. I wouldn’t have worked so hard to get it caught up if that were the case!

  1. This is….AWESOME.

    WOW.

I’ve never seen a comprehensive guide of all of these incredible amazing figures that I will never own or ever touch or ever see in person.

It’s kinda mindboggling to see how MANY there have been!

Good god…what would it cost to own them all, even if one paid retail prices? I don’t even wanna know.

Thanks for this….too cool for words!

  2. I’m one of those people you can’t imagine owning most of these figures. The only ones I don’t have are the earliest releases (Iron Man 1, Blade, Wolverine Origins, Ghost Rider) and the Spider-man series. I have all of the Captain America figures except Star Spangled Man Cap, all of the IM2 series except Black Widow (including MILK War Machine and SDCC Mk IV), all of the IM3 series (except Rose Hill Tony) including the diorama/accessory sets, all of the Avengers, all Thor and the 2 most recent Wolverines (X3 and black suit). Plus some of the Batman figures (DX12 Batman, Armory w/ Bruce & Alfred), all 3 Man of Steel figures, G.I. Joe Retaliation… and that’s not even getting into my Sideshow stuff.

Anyway, its great seeing a checklist like this. I had forgotten about the Blade 3 figures and Ghost Rider as I don’t have them. And that Origins Wolverine which got bootlegged big time. But seeing them all listed like this really drives home what a great collection it is. I’d be happy to help out if you have any questions about any of this stuff.

    1. Thanks! I think I have a few questions in my notes, so I’d love to talk more when I have time to dig back into it and get those accessories done!

You must have an impressive toy room! I have maybe 15 or so at this point and even that’s been tough! I’d love to get more Armors, but I’ve been trying to stay to one character per figure.
