Matty on Facebook: First Look at Battle Armor He-Man

Today on Facebook, Matty took a moment to show fans some early pictures of Batle Armor He-Man:

Just got in early packaged samples of the first variant of He-Man in his all new Battle Armor!

He-Man comes with removable chest armor with a pop out chest plate. Just snape in any one of the three chest plates to recreate the look of the spinning armor mechanism from the vintage toy. This toy does not feature a spinning tumble, but does include all three chest plates – standard, one smash, and my personal favorite, two smashes!

He also comes with his heroic Battle Axe just like in the famous painting of Battle Armor He-Man on top of Battle Cat. (anyone have the art book?)

And speaking of Battle Cat. We just got samples of him in package too, but the corners are all bent up. Bleh. We’ll try to fix it up and make it photo ready and get that up soon too. The final toy will obvioulsy have a perfect package. (or as close as possible!)

Battle Armor He-Man goes on sale January 15th, only on MattyCollector.com. He is a “bonus” figure and is not included in the 2010 Club Eternia subscription. Gets your before he rides away!

Matty

Matty also lets us know that the white outer boxes will now have the name of the figure printed on the outside, as well as giving us our first look at the bio for Battle Armor He-Man…

Real Name: Adam of the of House Randor

To adapt to new enemies and situations, Adam has learned to tap further into the great power which his sword unlocks. The combined Power of the Universe and the Knowledge of the Elders is used by Adam to imagine and create new forms of armor and weapons to combat evil. His BATTLE ARMOR was created to protect He-Man during his early battles with Skeletor and his evil warriors. Using the Power of Grayskull, He-Man, The Most Powerful Man In The Universe, is now shielded by his mighty BATTLE ARMOR.

Personally, this is the He-Man I’ve been waiting for since Classics was announced. I’m not sure if the armor being a separate piece can capture the same aesthetic the old one had, but I’ll be more than happy to check this version out come January!

  1. Do you have to take the armor off to put the new pieces in? That’s kind of a hassle. I was hoping they would clip-in.

Oh well, it still looks really cool. That’s the He-Man I had growing up too!

      1. You have two options to getting a green avatar.

        1) Right now you have an identicon – which is generated by your e-mail address. You can tinker with it to end up with a green one, but then your email will be wrong.

        2) You can go to gravatar.com and sign up for a gravatar. That will give you a consistent avatar that is attached to your email address across multiple sites (like ours, Poe’s, etc).

        Hope that helps.

  2. “anyone have the art book?”

Well, no, we don’t. I don’t know why you think we would seeing as how you only made 1000, only sold them at SDCC, and sold multiples to scalpers. But, hey thanks for reminding us! Marketing genius.

  3. Hell yeah, the head is a HUGE improvement over the first He-Man release.
This bodes well for the reissue He-Man in a few weeks!

This will be one of my favorite MOTUC figures, so glad to get it this soon!

  4. on the plus side, picture that armor in purple and you know what to expect on BA skeletor, who will likely come w/ just the havoc staff.

for real, no power sword? it’s HE-MAN for rama’s sake! how are they chinsing out on the damned power sword… he gets new armor and three swappable plates and that means no sword? he’s twenty freakin’ dollars!!

    1. I’m wondering about the armor. They didn’t have the same armor back then, but it woudl be a “cost-saving” measure if they had it now.

I know it’s not classic, but I wish BA Skeletor would come with a purple axe. He can’t slash the armor with his havoc staff after all.

      1. but magick circumvents armor… which is why the armor is silly in the first place. *ducks the flying debris*
