Galactic Holiday Outer Space Men
In Hand Images

A few weeks back the Four Horsemen announced a special “Galactic Holiday Edition” of the Outer Space Men – a new set of wave 1 & 2 colorways that included vac plated pieces & accessories. I was almost out the door for Christmas vacation when they arrived, but I just had to snap a few pics and show ’em off.

The Galactic Holiday figures were a late addition to my holiday shopping list. The Four Horsemen announced them on the Dec 7th, had them available for order on Dec 14th, and were awesome enough to make sure to get them shipped out before Christmas. That’s a fantastic turnaround in an age where we usually wait months between announcement and arrival!

The Galatic Editions are available with randomly inserted vacuum plated silver or gold pieces. For my set, I received gold pieces with Xodiac & Metamorpho and silver pieces with Astro-Nautilus & Inferno – which was just about the arrangement I would’ve chosen for myself! The colors look great and match up well with vac plated pieces I received. They also look snazzy when placed with the earlier Alpha and Beta waves.

On a “programming” note, we do have the Infinity Edition of the Outer Space Men here at IAT as well (you’ll see a couple of ’em in the pics below). I’ve been swamped with DC Classics reviews lately – I think my last non DC/MOTU review was in early October – but we’ll have a feature up on the Infinity Edition Outer Space Men here at IAT early next month.

Nautilus has had some of the best colorways so far. I still can’t pick a favorite.

The most fun thing about the colorways is the ability to mix and match the spacesuits.

Xodiac received his chest emblem for this release and it really improves the figure overall.

The Holiday figures are cool, but it’s hard to resist the urge to give their accessories to the Inifinity Editions.

Check out the creepy phantom face in Hot Pink Metamorpho’s helmet…

The vac plated pieces pop on and off as easily as a regular piece.

I really liked the red one in the beginning, but now I wish he was a little clearer. And we need a green Inferno!

The Four Horsemen tipped us off to the awesome combo of Infinity Inferno and the blue pieces, but Inferno really makes great use of all his colorways! If the Outer Space Men ever go one sale as singles, I’d have to pick up some extra Inferno bodies.

Overall, the Galactic Holiday versions ended up being my favorite set of colorways so far. The vac plated pieces are sweet. Inferno looks fantastic in blue, Nautilus and Metamorpho have great colorways, and I was really able to appreciate Xodiac for the first time. His helmet in gold has a great “astronaut” feel (though I hope to get it in silver too someday) and his chest logo is the finishing touch I think the colorway versions have been needing.

Since the Galactic Holiday figures didn’t have to be a shared exclusive with SDCC or NYCC they are still available (along with the Infinity Editions) at StoreHorsemen.Com.

  1. I agree….the logo on Xodiac was a big improvement on him. I would have loved to see that on his Alpha and Beta version as well.

  2. Ditto. He looks pretty badass like that. Why aren’t the Infinity Editions in that pic at the top?

  3. Per Noisy…..”On a “programming” note, we do have the Infinity Edition of the Outer Space Men here at IAT as well (you’ll see a couple of ‘em in the pics below).
