Continuing our series of Retroviews as we work to complete our DC Classics Review Archive, today we bring you DC Classics Wave 6, the Kalibak Wave.
Wave six first hit retail at the very end of 2008 and became more available over the first few months of 2009. The set reviewed here showed up at a Wal-Mart in early January. That Wal-Mart had never carried DC Classics before and didn't receive another case until the fall reset. While I was lucky enough to run across my wave six locally, all of the other IAT staffers had to make toy runs to a remote Wal-Mart about 45 minutes north of here throughout the Winter - it was the only one within an hour that maintained pegs for DC Classics. That was indicative of the odd distribution of wave six, at least, at first.
This year, we've featured eighteen Most Requested articles. And although we really wanted each and everything we asked for, we also want to know which of the Most Requested Figures really is the most requested. And the best part is, you get to decide.
Before we get into the nominess, we decided on one ground rule. The figure still must require a request - they can't be announced/scheduled in anyway. This disqualified Martian Manhunter as his barcode is present in the Wal-Mart computers. We considered disqualifying Ghostbusters minimates, as two of the ones requested are in the third 4pk, but we've left it in as there are plenty of others that could use minimate treatment.
Before we get to the poll, here again, are the nominees.

BBTS has placed Wave 13 sets and singles up for pre-order as well as providing images of the figures. I've grouped the images together below and resized them evenly, but scale may not be accurately represented.
I have one nitpick that I have to point out. For Superboy, I hope there is time for Mattel to have the neck/shoulder painted black on the final product. For some fans, it may be a minor thing, but he just doesn't look right with the blue neck.
