Matty on Facebook: She-Ra in Package (& a Cool Eldor Find)

This afternoon on Facebook, Matty showed pictures of She-Ra
in package along with our first look at her bio. It’s, um… crazy.

Toy Guru didn’t give much commentary other then mentioning that she was a few tweaks away from being ready for June. Here’s the bio….

She-Ra
Most Powerful Woman in the Universe

Real Name: Adora of the House of Randor
Channeling the combined Power of the Universe and the Wisdom of the Elders of Eternia, Adora transforms into She-Ra, the most powerful woman in the Universe. Her strength comes not from brute force but from sheer will and her cunning magical powers and healing abilities. She also has the power to communicate telepathically with animals. As both She-Ra and Adora, she helped lead the Great Rebellion of Etheria against the Horde Invaders. Later, when Hordak found an escape to Eternia, she followed him along with several of her friends and allies. Once there, the Princess of Power joined forces with the now renegade Masters of the Universe, who without King Randor, had become outcasts in their own land, fighting against Hordak’s new tyranny!

Okay, last month we got Optikk’s bio which was basically just a reprint of the New Adventures bio except for the part that mentioned Hordak being taken down by Skeletor. But now why Skeletor had to take on Hordak… he was encroaching on his turf. All I can say is that this is the first bio that really makes me lament the lack of tie-in. I’d love to see this “renegade Masters of the Universe” story play out in mini-comics, regular comics, a cartoon, something. There’s some potential for good stories in there, but the piecemeal bio reveals will never be able to fulfull that potential.

In other MOTU news, one of those “hidden in the attic” discoveries was made by the folks over at Hollywood Heroes regarding a proof of the vintage Eldor’s cardback. This is a never before seen piece (to my knowledge) and it rocks. I’ve been lukewarm on an Eldor in MOTUC, but the back of the card is getting me excited for his (hopefully) eventual release. You can get the full scoop at Poe Ghostal’s Points of Articulation!

  1. Okay, I’m digging the last half of the bio, but the first half was written by kindergarteners right?

    And who’s Eldor?

    1. The first is half. My cat sneezed. My cat sneezed today. She also can sneeze tomorrow. My cat can sneeze every day. And the last half as Fisto’s Foot pointed out below is basically the outline Ian Richter & Co. had for season three of the 2002 cartoon.

It sounds like a great story, but it’s going to waste in this form.

  2. That’s unexpected, but really cool.

And I don’t care if the old toy looked like that, they put the weaker head on her in the package. Lame.

    1. Definitely. The defense is that it’s called “classics” is being used. And as we know, the “it’s called classics” defense is always lame.

  3. This is really disappointing. They put the crappy head on her package and killed Randor in the bio.

And is it just me or does it sound like She-Ra’s a weakling in the bio?

      1. Yeah, I would’ve preferred a more “she won’t kick your ass, until she has to” bio as opposed to the “she’s pretty & sweet and can talk anyone down, even a suicidal donkey” bio.

  4. This is reminding me of Season 3 of 200x that never materialized. Didn’t Faker’s bio take elements from there too?

I agree that they picked the wrong head, but I’m not an MOC collector so I don’t care. I think they know that too since her other head is visible (albeit creepily) in the package.

    1. I think that’s the worst part. Never, never package a head sideways! A head on it’s side just puts the automatic part of the brain askew.

      1. There can be only one. Unfortunately, it turned out to be lame She-Ra.

At least they didn’t package her with the mask down. I have two MAA’s out as seperate characters. I have two Mer-Man out as separate characters. I didn’t do that for Teela because of the Goddess. I’ll have two Moss Man out. But that second She-Ra had is going in the bottom of a deep, deep drawer…

    1. I hope he’s dead. MOTU Classics could use to be a little more hard core. I’m sure all the 80’s fans hate it, but I enjoy my stories a little more when everything doesn’t always end in trite laughter.

        1. unless that question is part of the story…

as for eldor… anyone else noticed a pattern here? soem dude “finds” a pic of gygor and a rough concept, and two months later, there’s a prototype already! i hope this eldor “find” is also a leak to generate excitement… me wants!!

for those not in the know, eldor was the guy who trained he-ro, the most potent force in the motucverse. remember, he-ro weilds the might of grayskull AND is a spellcaster who can control the natural elements of eternia… eldor is the old boy who trained the young he-ro how to do that stuff. picture him as the sorceress and man at arms rolled into one… i mean, not like a hermaphrodite or anything, just in capacity! trust me, he’s 100% ma-male (kudos to anyone who gets that joke)

          1. This bio doesn’t really present anything new, it’s the season of the new cartoon we didn’t get!

Skeletor was supposed to take down Hsss, and then use Faker to make the Eternians not trust Randor, ultimately usurping him and tossing him into Despondos. Evil Lyn would use the portal to release the Horde. Hordak would conquer Eternia in short order and make the the Masters renegades in their own land. She-Ra was to show up and help out. Teela was to grow up and be a more powerful warrior in her own right. He-Man would have gotten some sweet Horde Armor. Man-At-Arms would be turned into a Snakeman and replaced. Then, Skeletor would ultimately defeat Hordak and become the primary villain again.

And now we know that after that, Skeletor travels out to conquer the rest of the Horde.

            1. Thank you!

See all that would be cool if it was shown to us instead of revealed to us in little bits here and there. What a waste.
