Never gonna give you up!
Never gonna let you down!

Where the heck have you guys been? I haven’t seen any of you for like… three weeks?!

Oh, wait. That’s right. It’s me that’s been “away”.

I’ve gotten your e-mails, PMs, and Tweets of concern and I’ve tried to answer most of them, but I thought I’d put up a quick post in the vein of that old cliché that my disappearance has been highly exaggerated. I promise I’ve actually been around. We had some server-side issues and subsequent design flaws crop up these last few weeks and my free time has been mostly spent pulling all that back together. The front page may look (mostly) the same, but it’s now coded almost entirely different than how it was a couple weeks ago. I may have put too much effort into preserving this year’s look when I could’ve changed it (our five year anniversary is just around the corner, after all), but it’s done! There are a few cosmetic changes – you’ll notice the thumbnails and posts titles have widened out a bit. There may be a little bit of growing pains there, so please bear with me.

There will be a few other upcoming changes too, but not too worry. I will soon rejoin Vault in review goodness – most likely later this week, after this last hurdle at work clears up on Tuesday. (That’s been crazy since Planet Comic-Con too! When it rains, it pours.)
In any case, just wanted to say Hi! I haven’t forgotten about you and I’ve got a backlog of killer toys to review once I get going towards the end of this week. Between all the Glyos-related releases, some Transformers, and a couple Mattel toys, I think I’ve got thirty new toys fresh atop the backlog!

And, hey, News will also be more of a thing, particularly for the lines that Vault & I care about. So look forward to that right column filling up too.

Hope everyone out there has had a great three weeks. What’d I miss??

  1. THE ’66 Bat-Mobile at StL ComicCon and various cosplay.

(Don’t worry, I missed them, too, only living vicariously thru two friends who made it. Damn ER and no sleep and moving out to BFE and….)

      1. I asked one friend who cosplayed 11 (as a greying ginger with a bit of a belly) if the guys who had the TARDIS as Contamination last year were there, but he never replied. :/

  2. I have to admit that it’s disappointing to get up in the morning and there’s no new review, but we can deal. Keep up the great work!

  3. Glad to see you posting. I thought I perceived a pretty severe drop in enthusiasm around the time Grayskull dropped but it seems that was likely my imagination.

    1. I don’t think it’s just your imagination. 2014 has not been… what I expected. I’ll just put it that way. Great things and not-so great things have been soaking up my time. I’ll probably talk a little more about that next week.

Sometimes I just want to put up straight reviews with no funnies. Being funny can be a lot of pressure when you’re just not feeling it.

  4. Captain America:TWS kicks ass, no one can find Black Widow, and Michael Bay is still raping people’s childhood. So, same old same old.

  5. Long time lurker, first time poster and I love the Rick Astley reference. Missing the days of Rick rolling.

  6. Thank you for coming back Noisy. I wish there was some way to show my appreciation.

    1. You just did right there. Given current circumstances, I probably can’t get back into my 3/week review schedule anytime soon, but some stuff will billow forth going forward!

      Thanks!

  7. The, um…comments…about…welcoming our new sheep overlords… um…it was a joke, see? Just a joke. Sheep. ha ha ha ha who could take sheep seriously? Ha ha. um. so, hi.

    Glad to see you …

    BAAAAAAAck.

    🙂
