The God Warrior has a nice amount of articulation also. His jaw is hinged, while his head is on a double ball joint. His torso and hips are also ball joints. The wrists are swivel/hinge pin joints, while his neck, shoulders, elbows, knees, and ankles are all swivel hinges. The use of a more rubbery plastic around most of these joints also means that there is little limitation from the sculpt.
Most of the God Warriors accessories are alternate body parts. He comes with two sets of hands, one holding and one open. There’s also an alternate neck/head piece in attack mode. Its mouth is wide open with teeth pushed forward and a gun barrel-like nozzle sticking out his throat and an energy effect. Lastly are his alternate shoulder blades with fully extended wings. The wings are done in a hard translucent plastic with orange energy effects colored along the spines.
Aside from the Figma stand, God Warriors only other accessory is a long energy spear. This piece was also done in a trans plastic. The majority of the staff is a light energy yellow coloring, while the tips are clear.
All around I’m pretty happy with how the God Warrior came out. He already had such a unique design, and all the sculpted details and painted effects bring it out even more. Hopefully this will bode well for future collaborations. Studio Ghibli has created some fantastic properties that I would love to see done, and I think Good Smile Co. has proven they can handle it with this figure.

That is amazing. I never knew there was more to the story after Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I have never read any of the manga, only seen the movie. I also have a copy of the first (butchered) American release from the 80’s on VHS around here somewhere. I watched it when I was a kid, and remember watching this monster fall apart after a few blasts. I will have to try and track down this later stuff.
Ugh, that first American movie was so bad, but I can’t seem to get rid of that VHS tape. It’s so different that it’s almost its own thing.
I haven’t read the manga in full either, but it’s definitely the way to go if you’re interested in that world. It’s definitely more in depth and the themes are heavier.
YES. Totally agree. I remember loving it as a kid (even though the cover of the VHS has absolutely jack to do with the actual movie). Then as an adult, when the “professional” release came out, with Patrick Stewart and Uma Therman, it was completely different. I think I preferred the guy who voiced Lord Yupa in Warriors of the Wind, over Sir Patrick’s version. Ah well. Still a fantastic film (er, the new one, not the Warriors of the Wind).
dude, holy crap! i had no idea this figure existed, and it friggin rocks! there’s no way you could justify doing a second pictorial with the god warrior and a bunch more toys, is there? like no one in particular, i just want to see more pics of this figure!
oh, and thanks for the scale shot photo, i know i can be a pain about those things, but it does help, i promise! nice shot!
Yeah, I can probably snap a few more pics.
I definitely wanted to get that scale photo in there because he’s so much taller than the average Figma.
Thank you for that. That kind of scale photo tells me SO much, and yeah, a lot taller than most Figmas. See, now I want him. I don’t need him to be 6 feet tall to be in scale for real, I just want him taller than my Captain America. Sold.
cool figure.
I like the flying pose and Gojira fight, but seeing that Harryhausen skeleton, Iwant to see those two square off! 😉
No prob. I’ll have it up soon.
