Vault Review: Captain America:
The First Avenger U.S. Agent

US Agent comes with two accessories: his eagle shield and a gun.  Walker’s always thinking patriotic, even when it comes to his firearms.  The MAC 10 he uses is made right here in America.  This is a nice little accessory.  Not only does it showcase how no nonsense the character is, but it’s also a nice addition to your Marvel arsenal.

Walker’s other weapon is his eagle shield.  This shield is more technologically advanced than his old vibranium disc.  Since not everyone can be a master of trajectory like Steve Rogers, Walker can control the eagle shield’s movements by remote.  The toy’s “wings” can swivel out like blades, plus the star on front can be removed.  There’s a lot of nice sculpting with all these technical looking bits that look like they were created by Tony Stark.  Lastly, the handle is on a hinge so he can wear it on his back or clip it to his wrist.

If you’re not a big fan of the eagle shield though, you should check out the shield that comes with Fortress Assault Mission Captain America.  His black and red shield is a great substitute for US Agent’s old one, even if the blacks and reds are transposed.

All in all he’s a pretty good figure.  The biggest problem you’ll have is with some paint issues, so be choosy when picking him out at the store.  But aside from that he’s the best US Agent figure out there.  Well, at least until Marvel Legends 2 gets around to him.

  1. While the US Agent didn’t wow me, he is still a solid figure and better than 90% of nonHasbro figures in this scale. Does the fortress shield have a strap or a clip?

  2. Great review Vault.

I was also thinking of picking up the FA Captain America figure, just to give the shield to my US Agent figure, and that ‘Captain Morgan’ pic at the end of the review has sold me on it.

The lack of forearm (or even wrist) swivels is annoying & very odd. You’d think that with as many times as this mold has been reused (& this is only wave 2) they be part of the sculpt.

I don’t know, maybe the person who made that decision is related to whoever decided to put Red Skull & Crossbones at 1 per case?

  3. funny… I was planning on doing the same thing about the shield.. I’m just waiting for either a sale or a markdown before I buy that figure only for the shield.. I didn’t realize it had those extra bits though (the moving wings and all)

  4. Even though I’m not the biggest U.S. Agent fan, this is one of my favorite figures in the line so far. The little things they did to retool this from the standard Cap (the more detailed belt, the sterner expression, and the beefier torso) really outshine the base figure.

  5. I did the same with the sheild, it matchs what he had on the cover of Omega Flight. Funny I actually did not look at the eagle shield enough to notice the star came off, I might have to dig that thing out again LOL.
