It’s finally time to order those authentic Moss Man ear muffs, now only available with the “small quantity” of Moss Man that come with flocked ears! I have no idea what will happen today. Mattel says that “server capacity has been taken to the max”, but they’re also warning of impending doom. So much so, they’re encouraging fans to pay multiple shipping charges by buying the items individually (don’t do that, by the way). As a subscriber, I get my first day off since September and I bequeath my unsused bandwidth on whichever lucky reader happens to get it. Here’s a link to the central ordering page for March. I hope that all of you get whichever ears you think best fit your collection and that today isn’t a total… clusterflock.*

* – I really tried to get through the whole thing without saying it. I really did.

    And don’t worry you’re probably not the first person to use the word clusterflock today and you definitely won’t be the last.

    1. Okay, I followed your link back to the Matty forums. First, warn people that you’re sending them to that awful place. Second, does L. Cypher work for Mattel? Does he realize he’s talking to customers?

      Now, I really don’t want to deal with Matty today.

        I was under the impression that customers are entitled to a modicum of respect, and an absence of snark and attitude.

        1. But we’re fans, remember? They seem to continually fail to recognize that we’re paying customers. Or we at least try to be.

          1. i think that’s part of the fans… they’d rather demean us as fans than sell to us as customers.

            i seriously want to know if ashton kutcher is behind this matty collector site and next year, there will be a punk’d movie in theaters about this social experiment over how much crap geeks will take to buy toys.

  3. I really hope everything goes smoothly. There’s no extra items to buy really. I mean, the DC Collectors will probably stay away until after the rush and Stratos isn’t really in demand. Hopefully, no one will come for the spectacle and Matty makes good on their promise of maximum bandwidth. I could really go for an easy ordering experience.

  4. I’m cool. Only need the DCUC case and that will stick around long enough for me to pick it up tonight after you have all had your ‘fun’

  5. Okay, so I thought I’d keep an eye on the Matty forums, and I just innocently went to the main page and to go on in… except, the site is already WSODing. Okay, go around, but before I can the WSODs reloads and… 404s. Ruh roh, Shaggy…

    It was WSOD for like ten minutes and then when stuff came up, the site worked fine! What’s up with that??

      1. Yeah, I’m gonna say 6 minutes on flocked and 8 minutes on unflocked not counting the blip.

        But did Matty turn on the WSOD before hand – it didn’t come up afterwards at all from what I can tell.

  14. so, it seems I have dropped MOTUC without intending to. Mattel simply does not want me to have them, no matter how early and ready to get them I am. So, there you are… I can’t wait until next month where I can successfully not get evil lyn.

    1. i really am sorry to hear that jedi… there’s no reason you should have to go bbts for moss man. but, not that this makes it any easier for you, it’s not like we the “fans” didn’t warn matty of this… in march of last year. they’re attempt to “play it safe” leaves them cowering over scraps and leaving the real meat yet untouched.
