What are you hoping
to see at SDCC?

As I’m gearing up for some Armchair All-nighters, I find myself wondering what everyone is hoping to see. What lines will we still be interested in collecting? What figures are we hoping to be revealed for the line we collect now? Who will surprise us? Who will disappoint?

I’ll get the ball rolling with a short list of figured I’d like to see pop up at SDCC:

Really, I think this is the least excited I’ve ever been going into an SDCC and a large part of that is because my two primary collecting lines are just in sad state of affairs: DCUC & MOTUC. DCUC more so though. I’m happy to see the line still limping along at one figure a month with Club Infinite Earths, but the retail line seems all but gone. The announcement of Damian’s removal from upcoming waves was a pretty significant blow and going into stores to see Injustice Batman piled up or a stray nU figure hanging on the pegs just doesn’t fill me with confidence that I’ll be picking up anymore Classics while I’m out & about.

DC Classics / Unlimited / Club Infinite Earths: The best thing for Mattel & DC would be to change that with a strong retail presence, but that time may have passed. For now, I’ll be looking to their subscription offerings for my DC fix. But who will we see? The only smart money is on JLA’s Ice to accompany the Fire coming out in a few months. Some love for the 90s would hook me fastest: Hook Hand Aquaman, FA Kyle Rayner, Aztek, Zauriel, or Prometheus would be great! Some love for the ladies like Dr. Light, Talia, or Vixen would also be good for my display. And remember Mera? But what might really get the blood pumping is if Mattel could find a way to sink at least a little budget into the oversized subscription figure (presuming there is one). If Mattel could scrounge up the dough for a properly-sized Doomsday or Granny Goodness, that might just give them the best shot at turning the heat up on the inevitable thermometer.

Have I mentioned that I’ve developed an aversion to thermometers in recent years??

Long Shot I’d Love to See: Zauriel.

MOTU Classics: I’ve read so many rumor lists for MOTUC these last few weeks that I can’t even remember them all. The only locks that spring to mind are Sea Hawk for Club Filmation & hopefully the Horde Troopers as the armybuilder 2pk. Two of my biggest wants for MOTUC simply aren’t going to happen (Red Beast, Calix) given the vintage makeover the lineup received after last year’s SDCC. In that regard, it’s time for Rio Blast, Extendar, and the biggest name to not yet receive a figure: Two-Bad! I would almost upgrade Two-Bad to “lock” status simply because there might just be a riot if we don’t see the dual-headed villain in the reveals.

She-Ra & NA fans need to see some love too, so I’m hoping to see Hydron as well as Glimmer or Angella on that front. What else? Club Filmation is the subscription that I don’t know why I have, so I’m really hoping for a surprise on that front. By surprise, I don’t mean a big, pink rabbit figure even though Plundor‘s the hot rumor. I think I’d be more excited for the Filmation line-up if the figures received a little bit of a details upgrade from the 4H instead of the plain, easily-animated designs the characters sported. Finally, we’ll hopefully get a much needed update on Castle Grayskull. Remember that thing?

Long Shot I’d Love to See: Snake Armor He-Man

NECA: NECA will hopefully be swooping into save my SDCC. We know that a lot of my Alien & Predator wants aren’t going to be there. NECA has been clear that they don’t yet have the rights to some of my most wanted characters like Ripley or Dillon. Similarly, they haven’t locked down Vasquez, but I haven’t been drawn into the Colonial Marines just yet anyway. We do know that NECA has the rights to Bishop, so hopefully we’ll see him and maybe something new from Predator that we’re not expecting.

Long Shot I’d Like to See: Kenner Aliens. I know we’re just starting off this new Aliens kick, but I’m already excited at the prospect of updates to crazier the Kenner figures.

Marvel: They’re still making Marvel toys right? I never saw the Hit Monkey wave at stores, so I haven’t picked up Hyperion, but I’d like to. I’m still interested to see what Hasbro has in-store for the future of ML. I know that we’ve still got some outstanding teasers from last SDCC & NYTF, but I don’t quite remember who they were. Honestly, I’m not even too sure about who I’d like to see these days. My longest outstanding wants are still Hellcat & Firestar. But I imagine we’re more likely to see Cap, Thor, & Iron Man, right?

After those few lines, it gets a little murky for me. A lot of what I’ve been collecting this year won’t be getting any SDCC announcements. We already know the Masterpiece Transformers line-up through til next year. The third-party Transformers are pretty much all similarly announced pretty far out (and I’d be surprised if any of those companies even attend SDCC). Is there anything cool going on with Joes right now? The 4H have put their cards on the table with their Raven Kickstarter. Maybe some 7th Market surprises? New OSM? New Warriors of Monkaa? Or perhaps Hot Toys will tempt me with some amazing figure I just have to have instead of making a car payment? They’ve got ’66 Batman & Back to the Future to beat me over the head with. Could be good.

Okay, after all that wishful speculation, I’m starting to feel a bit better about this whole SDCC thing. Hope springs eternal! What are we going to see that will blow our socks off? What do you want to see? Let me know in the comments below!

to see at SDCC?

  1. LOL! I just tweeted NECA about whether or not they’ll include any homages to the Kenner Aliens line! I hope so!!! There’s a part of me hoping for a Kenner-style Bishop!

  2. DCIE – Vixen is only one still missing from the DCUC card art. I like your other choices and will toss in my WILL PAYTON STARMAN. redeco the Thom body with a new head.
random/wild card: AMBUSH BUG (with Cheeks!)

MOTUC – Sea Hawk and Rio Blast
side note: just noticed Two-Bad’s deco. I guess that answers THAT question! (re: right leg. 😉 )

Marvel Legends – I imagine that we’ll see who will get single-carded out of that T-bolts set (Cage, Moonstone, obviously) and the next wave or two?
Maybe an announcement on the “missing” variants like Dani Moonstar, white Fist, Blade, etc?
(yeah, no luck up here other than a random Mystique, either. wait, no, that was down in Rolla last month. nevermind.)

randoms: the 6″ Star Wars figures. could there be hope for the long anticipated/whinged for 6″ Joes? If not, the X-wing pilot would make a great Ace/CrazyLegs/Airtight/Cobra grunt/etc base.

    1. oh yeah, DC at retail. I dread the announcements of the dreadful nu52/Injustice figures. bleargh.

and hoping for some more CLASSIC G1-styled Transformers. just spotted Ruination case up here this past week. PASS.

  3. I’d like to see news that there are enough Rokkon & Stonedar 2-Packs, Strobos, and Spirits of Hordak left over for all the fans who want them to get as many as they want. After that, everything else will be gravy for me.

  4. Any and all MOTUC goodness will do (though if Madame Razz shows up, I will be less than thrilled)
More Neca Gremlins!! – not including the Spider as i’ve already preordered that
Rebirth of the Ghostbuster 5″ line, I need a mayor Lenny and the Judge from GB2

  5. Neca actually is in negotiation to make a Dillon figure, So theirs a little bit of hope to see him at SDCC, Can’t wait to see some New Dcuc announced at SDCC, Hopfully a sneak peak at some new Ml lines too!

  6. Though I’m not attending, I’d love to get some Lego news. They already announced their SDCC exclusive minifigs (don’t even get me started on the SDCC Minifigs. I hate them so much because I want them and will never be able to get one), but I’d love to see what else they have coming up (in the Superhero line, of course).

  7. DCUC (under whatever name they want to call it) is pretty much the only thing I still buy, so here’s my wish list: I agree that if the subscription actually goes through again, Ice is a lock. I would then love to see Aztek, Vixen, and a “classic” Rocket Red (complete with non-stupid, correct-size armor). We need more classic villains, so Atomic Skull, Shrapnel, Dr. Light, Dr. Polaris, and Dr. Destiny would be cool. Just do a “Dr.” 3-pack. I hope they find a way to bring back the oversize figures: Doomsday, classic Chemo, Blockbuster, Shaggy Man and modern Giganta would all be welcome additions. I’d also like to see the return of online-only offerings like an Ambush Bug & Heckler 2-pack (never gonna happen) and maybe a second, female-heavy LOSH set. We can dream, right?
Maybe the easist way to say it would be for Mattel to announce they will focus on giving all characters that appeared on JLUnlimited the DCUC treatment?
What I hope we DON’T see any more of are characters that wear suits as their costumes, Nu52 or Injustice figures, and of course, thermometers that don’t update in real-time and measure secret, nebulous numbers.

    1. Oh yeah, AFI just posted pictures of some good looking stuff coming from DC Collectibles (Talon figure looks excellent, actually). So more of that should be good.
And I am curious to see more of the 4H’s “Power Lords” line.
Finally, just out of morbid curiosity, I’m waiting to see if Shocker Toys shows up this year. A few years back they showed some prototypes of some Golden Age, Project Super Powers 6-inch figures (Dan Garret Blue Beetle, Black Terror, etc.) that looked promising. Then they promptly fell off the face of the planet.

    2. for “Classic Rocket Red” do you mean the Brigade armor (which will be an army builder) or the Apokolips armor seen in JLU?

and Geoff …gah. There was a recent update to his “doings” from Paul “Nomad” Nicholasi at Dread Central. I wouldn’t hold my breath for those figures you mentioned. only Mucus Tick (which Dread couldn’t GIVE away, and they seemed to be the only source for) and a literal handful of blue Ticks ever made it out from wave 2 of that line.

      1. I’ll take either or both of the Reds. Both would be great, really. Dmitri in the Apokolips armor standing in front of a handful of the brigade troops would make a cool display.
Yeah, the more I’m hearing about Shocker, the shadier things are getting. It would have been one way to get a DCUC Golden Age Beetle, so that was my main interest in their stuff. Very curious to see if they show up.

  8. I’m assuming everybody knows a ‘seventh market’ company is doing the Kenner-style figures from Alien, right? I’m guessing they’re going to be crazy expensive.

I’m honestly not looking forward to ANYTHING. None of the ‘good news’ I would hope for is going to happen. There won’t be a ‘Dark Knight Returns’ Superman. There won’t be a Paul Kirk Manhunter. No new vehicles for MOTUC. No Ambush Bug. No apology from Hasbro and suddenly there’s Iron Man 3 figures on a par with the IM/Avengers figures.

But I’ll read the armchair reporting because I like it when something exciting happens that makes SOMEONE happy.

    1. I believe the Alien figures are going to be $20 a pop. It’s a tough call, because a small line like that is worth it to me. But it’s still hard to cough up $20 for 5 POA.

    2. Yeah, but they’re just producing figures using Kenner’s molds. Neca could still do an homage to the 90s Kenner figures by releasing crazy xenomorphs like mantis, gorilla, stuff like that. Very similar to what they’re doing with Series 10 of Predator figures.

Because of all the new tooling, I doubt it will happen, but it would still be sick to see those figures in all of Neca’s articulated glory.

    3. The IM3 figures were awesome. When you could find them. Mk 42 and Iron Patriot are two of the best Marvel figures I’ve ever seen. The Heroic Age IM wasn’t bad either, though mine has a weak left knee and needs to be kept in the “3 point landing” stance, because if I keep him upright his knee starts to bend inward.

Or were you talking 1/18 scale figures? If so, my friend, we are talking two completely different languages.

      1. Yes, sorry, the 1/18, or 4 inch, or ‘collectable size’ or whatever.

        Those are SHAMEFUL.

I’m sure the pros out there could bombard me with all the flaws of the Movie Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Avengers figures but I really got to liking them and then the IM3 toy line…just completely peed in the cornflakes.

I mean, I knew MATTEL was cheaping out, those crappy 3 3/4 Batman pieces of crap no articulation no paint apps Happy Meal junk but then Hasbro joins in.

And like I said, I know WHY, it’s because retailers demanded lower price point toys. It doesn’t mean I have to like it.

  9. Mainly just to see what NECA has on display and what future Marvel Legends are coming. I’ve given up on the DC line when it went online only, and I’m not getting another MOTUC subscription. Those figures are just too expensive and I’m out.

I would like to also see what Bandai has in store for their Figuarts and D-Arts lines.

  10. I just don’t get the cynicism surrounding MOTUC. But whatevs. My hopes:

    MATTEL:

    MOTUC
    – Teela 2.0 with blond head and her golden unicorn (aka Charger)
    – Ninjor
    – Eldor as the club exclusive
    – Battle Ram pre-order
    – Rock Warrior (from the Golden Book series)
    – Mini-Comic Stratos
    – Filmation A-list variants, or
    – Filmation power sword and sheath in the next weapons pack, and
    – Horde Troopers with extra head for Filmation-hair He-Man
    – Light Spinner with extra Shadow Weaver head (even with the second head, it still wouldn’t be as show accurate as the club exclusive, thus remaining fair to the 2012 sub holders while giving non-subbers some representation of Shadow Weaver on their shelves, as well as being a cool variant of the character.)
    – Man-At-Arms in toy colors with Alcala/style guide head

    Mattycollector
    – Club Lost World: A mini-sub of six figures based on the MOTUC buck recreating the sorta MOTU-knock-off Lost World of Warlord Remco line. I lust after a MOTUC-style Remco Warlord.
    – Keaton Batman movie masters: I will but anything and everything from such a line.
    – The Real Ghostbusters 6″ scale. I know, I know.
    – Thundercats Classics. Again, I know, I know. But we can all imagine what 4H Tcats look like, and they are amazing.
    – Marty’s Valterra replica from Back to the Future. I know TG already poo-poo’d it, but whatever. Would be awesome.

    DCUC/CIE
    – Over all, I’d just like to see a commitment to some new tooling and a little more effort. The feeling that we’re getting leftovers and afterthoughts is what hurts the line more than anything. Each offering should be the RIGHT version of the character. Red Hood is a good example. While Bat fans and some casual collectors enjoy the Morrison figure, no one can argue that the biker jacket version wasn’t the most desired.
    – Super Powers Kalibak. Damn the haters. I want this figure.
    – Perez Zatanna. No Perez Z, no complete Satellite team.
    – Chronos I
    – A classic Scarecrow
    – Felix Faust

    WWE Flashbacks
    – Big John Studd
    – Junkyard Dog
    – Any mid-80s manager
    – Less realistically, the announcement of Hogan signing a Legends contract.

    HASBRO:

    G.I. Joe
    – Cobra-La, specifically, Pythona. I believe this is where I will be most disappointed this year.
    – Concept case ’85 Lady Jaye
    – Concept case Tele-Viper
    – Sunbow Flint
    – Ultimate ARAH Duke. Yeah, I went there.
    – Renegades Coyote with Roadblock
    – Renegades jeep with Flint and Lady Jaye

    Transformers
    – More American-release masterpieces. Not that I’m buying masterpieces, but it’d be cool to know that more of them are within my financial reach.
    – Voyager Generations Optimus Prime
    – Voyager Generations Galvatron
    – Voyager Generations Ultra Magnus
    – Platinum series culminating in the first-ever release of the Unicron prototype. THAT’S how you wrap up the 30th, baby!

    Star Wars 3 3/4″
    – A New Hope Leia, I guess?

    NECA:

    Gremlins
    – Stripe Gremlin – The mogwai was perfect. His Gremlin is ready for an update.

    E.T.
    – More figures/gimmicks please. I’m buying any and all (especially a bike-escape dio).

    Rocky
    – I need Apollo in his stars-n-stripes get-up right before he gets his ass handed to him. Siberian-training Rocky would be awesome, too.

    Goonies
    – My favorite ’80s movie. I need this license resurrected. The Mezco figures just aren’t getting it done for me.

  11. I want to see
    Neca:
Vasquez, Booker Dewitt, Handyman, Bat Gremlin, Booker Dewitt, Friday the 13th series 3, Predator series 11
    Hot Toys:
Batman Returns, IM 3 Mandarin, IM Mark 37, Robocop unmasked Murphy, Underworld Selene, Prometheus Shaw, Avengers Bruce Banner, Batman 60s The Riddler
    Motuc:
    Rio Blast
    Star Wars 3.75:
Dengar, Episode 4 and 6 Yoda, spirit Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 6
    Mcfarlane:
The Walking Dead comic series 3 and TV series 5
    ThreeZero Toys:
    The Governor
    Rick Grimes

  12. Stuff I’d like to see:

Transformers: Hasbro release of MP Sideswipe.
Long shot: The US MP releases moved to mass retail, and an abandonment of the “simple” philosophy that had them upsizing Legion Commanders into Voyagers.

    MOTUC: Huntara, Tung Lashor.
    Long shots: MO2K He-Man,Roboto, Rattlor/General and Grayskull’s Battle Lion

Marvel Legends: A new Storm figure, a definitive Thing figure, and an explanation as to where all the variants are.
Long shot: Sif (movie or comic)

The Bridge Direct’s Hobbit: News that the line will continue and will include some mass release version of the 6″ Azog figure.

Marvel Select: Apocalypse. Long shots: A super-articulated Thing, Skorge the Executioner.

NECA: News that they’ve re-acquired the license to God of War, and that they’re going to production with their awesome God of War 3 prototype (go to Hell, DC Collectibles…).

    1. you’re the best damned pinoy playboy ever, you know that? i like the way you think!

on the motuc front, i want to know what they will do to bring anyone but the vintage purists to the table for 2014. i love rio blast and extendar as much as anyone (more than a number of motu fans, actually) but i want to see eldor more than any of them.

marvel legends- i love the new bucks, but i want to know too where are the “running changes” and what will be done to ensure we can actually complete the wrecking crew this year, THEN i want to see some marvel B and C listers, squirrel girl, darkhawk, cloak and dagger, dazzler, titania, maybe thundra, ulik, kurse (maybe in the movie line, but i will friggin blow somebody to get a simonson kurse), odin, heimdall, sif, the warriors three, hela, baldur, tyr… let’s get some gods dammit! i am spidey’ed out, let’s get some rogues for him dammit! black cat STILL has no figure, neither has silver sable, silvermane, either of the smythes, cardiac, or a flash thompson venom (or, you know what? i’d LOVE a spidey-themed “regular joe” box set of JJJ, gwen stacy, aunt may, peter parker, flash thompson and harry osborn… that’d be the shit. THEN if they can get their running change in place, we make two alterations, swap gwen for MJ and swap flash thompson for john jameson.) i can’t believe we don’t have more of spidey’s rogues gallery, remembering that before marvel legends, there was spider-man classics… and we’re still sans tombstone, sans trapster, sans quicksand, sans hammerhead, sans ox, montana and fancy dan, sans puma, sans jackal, sans a decent morbius, sans doppleganger, sans calypso

NECA continues to impress, so honestly, anything they do i’m interested in.

the bridge direct- paxie, we’re already getting a 6 inch azog in a 2 pack later this year, but man, that SDCC version is calling my name… but what i want most? a smaug. a big friggin articulated smaug. or at least, a 6 inch dwalin, he’s my kind of dwarf. 🙂 dwalin is the kind of dwarf i always loved in my role playing days, i’d go back to back with a dwarf like that and woodchipper a room full of foes. elf, human, orc, whatever faced us, give me a good dwarf or fellow half-elf at my back, and there were going to be limbs flying around the room like torquemada had just designed a cirque du soleil routine.

i want to see the annoucement of GI Joe legends
i want to see more TMNT classics, preferably a shredder and splinter
i want to see an official gi-joe crossover line with transformers.
i want to see the star wars black x wing.
and i want to see the “secret” variant of the ravens. 🙂
anything other than that will be gravy. i’m always up for pleasant surprises.

      1. I’m with you for the most part, but Black Cat did have a figure. It was a crappy figure (on Toy Biz’s old Elektra body), and it was in a boxed set, but it was a figure.

      2. I’m with you on the Asgardians love! Volstagg can use the BLOB BAF body, new head. Not sure about Odin, as his look seem to change every story he appears in. and can we get a Zeus to go with Herc and Ares?? maybe Phil Jimenez’ new Hippolyta?

      3. D-Rave, I might be Pinoy, but I don’t play. Thought you knew. (Raise douchebag wannabe gang signs)

I’m with you on wanting a new Black Cat, Fwoosh did a short front page commentary on how the only Legends Black Cat we got was horrid by OLD standards, and downright blasphemy against the sultriness of the character when you see what modern Hasbro female bucks can accomplish. I felt dirty just buying a Red She-Hulk figure (I know I’m going to regret typing that.)

As for TBD’s Azog, I’m terrified as to whether he’ll be available anywhere other than SDCC. Entertainment Earth had the retail release that I think you’re referring to, but has stated that the manufacturer cancelled the wave. BBTS had what looked like a retail Azog up for pre-order but it’s listed as “sold out”. I actually don’t know who to believe, and am exchanging e-mails with TBD to get some insight.

There is no convincing to be done with me on Marvel Asgardians or anyone from the Simonson glory days. That new Shulkie buck is destined for a Sif and I’d settle for one on the Moonstar buck too. Ulik would look decent on a Terrax buck. For my Marvel Select long shots, I forgot adding my want for a Select Odin. That’d work.

  13. Mainly looking forward to NECA (Bishop, two more Dutches, ???) and Ice. ICE! Finally. Finally? Hope they do her justice, but I’m not expecting much.

Figuarts, too, but I don’t think we’ll see new DBZ when we don’t have release dates for everything shown already. If we do, it’ll be somewhat bittersweet. Plan on grabbing Piccolo after the con, but only if he’s $40 or less. If they copy last year’s pricing on Amazon (con price + $10), he’ll be $50 and I’ll have to hope he winds up on sale like Gohan did.

  14. I’m already seeing what was revealed for Transformers: Generations at Bot Con while G.I. Joe is pretty much done for now after the Kwinn wave hits. I’m hoping for some new Marvel Universe figures and really expecting to see Black Knight show up at last this year along with the rest of his long-speculated wave. Some more Marvel Legends reveals wouldn’t hurt, but we’ll see. Star Wars has the Black Series on tap for the second half of ’13, so I’m good there.

Whether or not I renew my Mattel subscriptions will depends on what is shown. I’m still waiting for Two-Bad, Extendar, Rio-Blast, Ninjor, and wondering if the ’87 Movie characters (Blade, Sauron, Gwildor) will ever squeak themselves in there somehow. I’m less enthusiastic about DCUC. The only CIE figures I opened and placed on display last year were Jay Garrick Flash and Starman. If no more pre-90’s characters are shown, that will be it for DC and me, much like I parted ways with their comics in 2011.

Being an old school Mego fan, I want Figures Toy Company’s ambitious brand extensions to actually happen. I’ve preordered their first three waves of repro Batman figures from the 70’s but am keeping my fingers crossed at eventual success. Classic Star Trek made it, so I’m feeling positive for the Batman stuff at least. Still rooting for a 12” Larry Hagman, the REH Conan/King Kull/Solomon Kane trinity, Tarzan/Jane, Evil Knievel, and so forth.

In all honesty, this may be the first SDCC in years where I have way more interest in toy line unveilings than the formerly awesome exclusive products.

    1. true.
and some claim that he may have appeared as early as the Armageddon 2001 Annuals, due to a coloring error? unknown GL shown defeated with hidden face and black hair vs Hal’s brown. same ‘standard’ uniform, tho.

  15. I’m looking forward to
    1. MOTUC scaled Superman/Doomsday/Killer Croc
    2. MOTUC StrongArm/BlastAttak/Two-Bad/Ninjor/Blade/Goat Man/Masks of Demon 2 pack,
    3. DCIE R’As Ghul/Ice/Warlord/Granny Goodness/Damian Wayne/Hook hand Aquaman

Also hoping that the 4H announce a second run of the seventh kingdom line!

  16. I would really love to see some increased effort in the DCIE line. They have made some bad choices in my opinion(red hood is the biggest miss and I was never a fan of contantine) and the seem to use so little new tooling on some of the ones we do get. That is why i skipped this year. I would love to see what many others have said like Doomsday, Zauriel, Hook Aquaman, Vixen, Ras Al Ghul, and Aztek to name a few. And please keep new 52 out of the line. I think a new Doom or Granny would pull alot on people who are in the fence (like me) back into the line. And how hard would it be to get a a Commissioner Gordon packed with that overseas only batsginal. new head on the Constantine body, gun with trigger hand, and even one of the Young Justice rooftops. If i can make a custom of him with only a few parts, why cant Mattel. I want to get back in but am leary…

Also, how can we not get another LOS 12 pack when the first 2 releases sold out. Twice. I do not understand why they have not done a follow up when you consider many of the costumes are merely new paint jobs with minimal new tooling.

  17. MOTUC:
Glimmer, Angella (Blame Castaspella’s bio), Hydron, Two-Bad, Horde Troopers, Rio Blast.

(Mattel’s) DC: Comic book versions of any of the following: Alfred, Lois Lane, Commissioner Gordon. Then again, I’d love a Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Richard Grayson… Can I call him Dick? or will it be censored? and Oracle…

    NECA:
I wish they announce they can do an Out for Justice Steven Seagal and a Bloodsport JCVD… I guess I might be the only one who wants a super articulated Steven Seagal figure…

    Hasbro:
    Marvel Legends:
    Amazing Spider-Friends set
    90s Kaine
    Power Pack
Jim Lee Jubilee and Rogue (ToyBiz Rogue is a manly looking lady)

    MLP:FIM:
Big McIntosh, Doctor Hooves, any other male Pony, Applejack with the correct hat,Octavia, DISCORD!!

    1. a super articulated seagal wouldn’t be realistic, would it? 😉 i’d take a super articulated kelly le brock though as a “hard to kill” boxed set.

but hells yes to a JCVD… though if we get him from bloodsport, i want chong li too, worse than i want mr dux. BTW, did you ever see the video of the real frank dux shattering bullet proof glass with his hand? it was some impressive shiz.

      1. that’s why I chose an 80s version of him… He kinda had articulation back then…

If we get Chong Li he needs Pectoral Articulation!!

I’m so googling that frank dux video now!

    2. ooh, POWER PACK!
I picked up a couple MU X-23s and Steve’s to custom them and never got around to it.

I also just found my Extreme Rogue and realized how dated she looks! (They re-used that body for the wider distributed Domino in the Cannonball 2pk at Walmart.)

I’ve also begged for a Daily Planet and Gotham 5pk for years. I’m not holding my breath, as closest we got was the silver age Luthor/TwoFace 5ok. I even bought the DCD Perry White and Jimmy Olsen because I know Mattel will never do them. We do need a new Lois, tho.

  18. I’m basically only collecting classic DC Characters. Penguin was the only figure I have bought from the DC Batman Unlimited line. Both series are riddled with Batman figures and it’s dull in my opinion. Can’t they do at least one villain? Ra’s would be perfect to have done.
What I hope to see for the CIE line:
ICE (I think she’s a done deal with FIRE already in the line
    VIXEN
    INDIGO
    DR. LIGHT
    WEATHER WIZARD
    AQUALAD
    LIGHT BLUE SUPERMAN with MXYZPTLK

    long shot:
ANY LEGION CHARACTER (you’d think with the 12 pack sold out so fast that they would have done a follow up 5 pack or something.)

At least they have said the nu52 characters are not part of the line.

  19. For DCIE I would totally be down for those 90’s characters like Kyle GL, Zauriel, Aztek, Prometheus. Would love some more Legion figures. Long shot want will always be Hitman Tommy Monaghan =)

Im hoping that one of the new DC lines that Mattel just teased will be a Superman Legends type line. That would make my Con.

    1. A legends line for Supes would be great. I’d love to see re-releases of the Steel and pre-Crisis Brainiac figures from the old DC Superheros line. And if they could package a figure with a Mr. Mxyzptlk (sp?), all the better.

  20. Mattel pretty much killed my DC Universe collecting once it became a subscription. Most of my figures are now actually stored away in boxes right now for me to debate what to do with.

As far as anything else… I’d like to see an official Gears using the upcoming Swerve figure from Hasbro, the Dinobots other than Grimlock in some form…the Masterpieces of Sideswipe, Red Alert, Prowl, Bluestreak, and Smokescreen coming stateside. Of course they probably already revealed all that is coming at BotCon recently…

I’m also curious to see what DST shows at the Minimates panel for if they’ll be continuing the Star Trek line that has just started up again recently. Aliens minimates would be cool too. And maybe do some more classic team goodness in Marvel… Wrecking Crew, Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, 90s X-Factor…

Also really hoping to see the rest of S.H. Figuarts Zyuranger/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers members shown to be coming since we’ve got Green, Red, and Pink coming. Just need Black, Yellow, and Blue guys.

  21. Well, the update on Castle Grayskull is it ain’t ready yet. Scott’s latest Matty video confirmed this. more foam on display :p

  22. Lets see

MOTUCs: Glimmer, Two Bad, Horde Troopers, Angella, Tung Lasher
DCUC: Ice, Vixen, Wonder Girl Cassie (she was on the packaging too), Conner Kent short sleeve shirt and jeans, Oracle, Stephanie Brown as Spoiler, Robin, or Batgirl, Ras al Ghul, Damian Wayne (don’t get stupid like Hasbro did one time with the dead no fig rule)
MLs: news on the running changes, Squirre Girl, a non costume Luke Cage, Dark Ms. Marvel, Firestar, Abomb, A new Shanna the She Devil,
Figuarts: Know the other Zyurangers are coming (Boi seen but female yellow not yet) want news about Akared, Dekaranger Swat, US Gokaigers (sadly doubt to see Navi or the durins), maybe some other teams like Gaoranger, Abaranger, Fiveman, Bioman, GoGoV or Ohranger.

  23. DCUC: Birds of Prey. Huntress should have been done as far back as the DCSH line, and the crappy Silver Age Black Canary that was made instead of the modern (or pre-DCnU, anyway) Dinah is inexcusable. Also, Oracle. A Dark Knight Returns Superman almost seems like a no-brainer, but remember, this is Mattel we’re talking about. And if they can swing that, for the love of fuck, get us a Big Barda built on the Teela body. I’ve already bought two Bardas, and I’d gladly buy another one with the right scale and build.

I’d also love it if they could work the unproduced Young Justice Superboy and Miss Martian into the line somewhere somehow.

TMNT: Ninjara. C’mon, we’ve gotten how many Usagi Yojimbos over the years? Why can’t we get a creator-owned character who actually originated in a TMNT book.

Marvel: Squirrel Girl. Give me a Squirrel Girl, we’ll talk about anything else.

DST: More Star Trek. They’ve started to make a bit of a comeback, and I want to keep the ball rolling. The props are back in TRU, and they’ve got those “deluxe” figures, but can we get some new 6″ figures? More than just Kirk and Spock?

The Minimates have made a resurgence, though mostly it’s characters we’ve already seen. Now, I love Picard and Sisko. My Minimates collection wouldn’t be complete without them. but they’re the only TNG and DS9 characters who’ve gotten ‘Mates. Let’s see the entire TNG and DS9 casts, and the original cast, as well. We’ve gotten movie Kirk and Scotty, but no others. Where’s Captain Sulu?

And the ships? We’ve finally gotten the Enterprise B, and the Bird of Prey and Excelsior are on the way. Can we pretty, pretty please get an Enterprise C? I know she only had one appearance, but we need her to complete the lineage. What about the Defiant? Screw the damn “scale” arguments. Not a one of the other ships are actually to scale, anyway. The Reliant? A Romulan Warbird? A Klingon Warbird? A Vor’cha cruiser? A Galor class ship? DS9 itself? A Valdore class warbird? A Romulan warbird?

  24. DCUC: If you’re going to bet, then look for characters that would need 0 tooling. I think hook Aquaman will be a no go.

Marvel Hasbro: I’ve seen leaked pics of figures already on display. Heroic age Thor, Songbird, Jubilee, current Venom, Tigershark, Radioactive Man, Blizzaed, Batroc the Leaper
