Four Horsemen Announce
New Outer Space Men Releases

I lost track of time while working on the site redesign, so there’s no 7th Market review this week, but I do have some exciting news to share. The Four Horsemen recently updated their site with the announcement of three new Outer Space Men waves (and a Gothitropolis tidbit to boot).

Here’s the official 4H press release:

We just wanted to give you all a quick update of things going on now at Four Horsemen Studios

Infinity Edition Outer Space Men waves 1&2 2.0:  In production now – these are not exactly the same as the first release of the Infinity Edition OSM waves 1&2. We’ve gone back in and made some minor tweaks and alterations to the paints that will bring these guys closer to Mel Birnkrant’s original vision of the Outer Space Men. The changes will be minor, but sure to be appreciated by true OSM fans. We’d hoped to have them in stock by mid-Spring, but we decided that a little delay would be okay in order to make sure that the next two items listed below would be ready in time for the 2012 San Diego Comic Con. The Infinity Edition Outer Space Men wavs 1&2 2.0 will be available for sale at SDCC 2012 and online at Store Horsemen at the same time. Photos and pre-orders coming soon.

Outer Space Men Alpha Phase wave 5 and our first Deluxe Outer Space Man:  In production now – the Alpha Phase versions of Outer Space Men wave 5 (including Orbitron and Gemini) and our very first Deluxe Outer Space Man (Cyclops) will be available at SDCC 2012 and online at Store Horsemen at the same time. Even though Orbitron was released way back in the original Outer Space Men line, this will be the first time that Gemini and Cyclops have ever been seen outside of prototype form. We can’t wait to have these three in our hands to play with them! Photos and pre-orders coming soon.

Cosmic Creators Series, Four Horsemen Edition Outer Space Men:  In production now – Following the successful release of the amazing Cosmic Creators Series, Mel Birnkrant Edition OSM figures, the Four Horsemen have come up with their own crazy color combos for waves 1&2 of the OSM. These will be extremely limited and signed and once they’re sold out, they’re sold out forever. The Cosmic Creators Series, Four Horsemen Edition Outer Space Men will be available for sale at SDCC 2012 and online at Store Horsemen at the same time. Photos and pre-orders coming soon.

Vampire Girls (Gothitropolis) production:  Although these aren’t going into production as soon as we’d like, after getting some extremely high pricing for tooling from one factory, we’ve finally gotten pricing from another factory that we think we can live with. The figures are going to be more expensive than we’d hoped, but production costs continue to rise every day and there’s not much we can do to stop that. Hopefully we’ll have more news about her very soon.

So, Outer Space Men fans, get your checkbooks ready!

If you peruse the Fantastic Exclusive Forums as I do, you might have an idea or two of what to expect for these upcoming tweaked versions of the Outer Space Men. This is just speculation on my part, but I imagine we might seem some changes that will let a little more light in the helmets among other things.

Some keen eyes spotted prototypes of the Cosmic Creators Series, Four Horsemen Edition at Toypocalypse. You can see pics in this thread at FanEx.

And some news on the regular line marching on! With the release of Gemini, Orbitron, & Cyclops. Colossus Rex (who debuted with Orbitron, if I recall) is strangely absent from this release, but the precedent for the next really is possibly being established here: a wave consisting of Gamma-X and Terra Firma alongside a deluxe Rex.

  1. I saw this when it was first posted on their site. I agree with your idea of another wave.

Just one statement by me: Oh my poor wallet!

    But in a good way!

    Spec

  2. Why do extremely limited color releases instead of a normal run? I would have loved to buy the Mel Birnkrant edition, minus the extras, at a normal price.

  3. Stack I think it’s because the Birnkrant Edtiitons were a special thing for Futuretro 2. It would be in bad taste to release the same figures people paid a LOT of money for minus the extras (which is really only a print and the sigs of Mel and the 4H )for a normal price.

The cosmic Creator Series OSM looked so good at the show a few months ago, I cant wait to buy them come SDCC time. here is a picture from Futuretro of them
