Vault Review: BrickArms
WW2 German Heer Soldier

I think the minifigure and his nineteen unique accessories are well worth the price. But, like I said earlier, I’m biased when it comes to indie toy makers, I know the hardwork, creativity, and ingenuity they have to put into these toys and I believe that increases their value. Plus, Brickarms appreciates their customers. For every order, they includes at least one extra item for free. You can’t beat that.

Here’s a rundown of all the weapons this German comes with. You’ll notice Will puts an incredible amount of detail into each one.
Stahlhelm – The classic WW2 German Helmet. Don’t let Helmut go to war without it!
P08 Luger – The perfect sidearm for any German officer.
C96 Mauser – In case the Luger’s too little for you.
MP40 SMG – Didn’t Spock use one of these? Maybe not.
StG44 Vampir – The first assault rifle.
RPG – When I look at this, all I can think about is that scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark. You know the one.
M24 “Potato Masher” – If you’ve just got to have mashed potatoes. Can also be used as a grenade.
MG42 – You can’t have D-Day without one! Can also be used with…
Ammo Drum – Plugs easily into the side of the MG24.
Ammo Links – Also plugs into the MG24, but lets you see how much ammo you have left.
Monopod & Bipod – Rest your arms and your gun, while keeping watch of course.
“Wonderwaffen” Disintegrator Ray Gun – My favorite item from those crazy German scientists. How can the Allies stand against the might of the future?
Here are the extras I received with my order. They’ll go great with my Toy Story Army Men!
M1 Garand – This is the classic rifle that US soldiers used in WW2. I love the detail on this, you can even see the bolt.
Laser Rifle – I have no idea what this rifle is from, but those aliens/cyborgs/killer mutants better watch out.

  1. The “laser rifle” is an HK XM8, a prototype weapon the US Army trialed as a replacement for the aging M16/M4 assault rifles, before deciding to stick with the latter for the foreseeable future for whatever reason. The XM8 is notable for appearing in virtually every military-themed first-person shooter video game ever (slight exaggeration) from about 2008 onwards (the protagonists of CRYSIS, for example, wield modified versions of the weapon), and not infrequently shows up in minaturized toy form; the “Flash” figure from the toyline for execrable “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” movie sported one, and prior to that Marauder Joe produced another Joe-sized version with a removable magazine for sale through his “Gun Runners” custom G.I. Joe weapons store.
