Vault Review: Iron Man 2 Mission Tech Armor 3pk

I’m trying to be good and put away a little money for the SDCC exclusive onslaught, but Hasbro and Iron Man are making that difficult. I innocently went to Toys R Us in search of new Prince of Persia Legos, and out of nowhere I spy this Iron Man 2 3pk. “Haven’t seen this before,” I thought and picked it up. A few minutes later, I’m cursing myself for being weak as I hand it to the cashier. But my weakness is your gain.

I can tell you how Hasbro suckered me into buying this. One, they’re in 6 inch scale. Joes and Star Wars can stay small, but I like my super heroes big. And two, these three armors each have something I like about them. So between the scale, designs, and paint, they’re a pretty snazzy looking group.

Who could have guessed that Moss Man would end up as one of the most controversial MOTUC figures? He debuted at SDCC with flocking that Mattel couldn't mass replicate. When they changed it, they covered his ears and all hell broke loose. That resulted in two variants for the sale day. Mattel cleared a path of bandwidth and warned us to get in and order as quickly as possible. Moss Man went on-sale at 10:57 local IAT time and both versions were gone in a little over five minutes. Somehow, amidst all the hubbub, I got exactly the Moss Man I wanted.

April 16th is quickly approaching and with only two slots left in our first round of Most Requested Candidates, I wanted to take the next to last week for myself and nominate a character that I've been waiting on an action figure for as long as I can remember. This is a character that I feel has been much neglected in the action figure area, not to mention merchandising in general. Before Kull conquered and Conan barbarized, Robert E. Howard created the devout, wicked punisher, Solomon Kane.
