\"\"<\/a> “And now for the job at hand! I\u2019ve got to bring my father\u2019s murderer to justice! “<\/em><\/strong> – Daredevil. <\/p>\n

I love Walgreens. They get me. No, not because of their 2 for $3 deal on bottles of soda or their Nice! Peanut Butter Pretzels (though I love those), it\u2019s because they do these exclusives with Hasbro \u2013 and they pull the ideas for them right out of my head. Prototype Boba Fett? On target. Agent Venom? Awesome. Emperor\u2019s Wrath Vader\u2026 well, I\u2019m still looking for that one. But I did find my favorite one this weekend: First Appearance Daredevil!<\/p>\n

Like the regular Daredevil before him, this is a figure I\u2019ve bought over and over \u2013 all the way back to the original Spider-Man Classics figure in 2001. (I always wanted the ToyFare exclusive of the cool 5\u201d Daredevil, but never got around to it). And like the regular Daredevil, after 14 years, I finally feel like I have \u201cthe one\u201d, the last FA Daredevil I\u2019ll ever need. Right? <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/center><\/p>\n

This figure is a straight repaint of the fantastic Hobgoblin series Daredevil<\/a>. It features what\u2019s basically become Hasbro\u2019s main buck. This is good because it\u2019s got strong proportions and the articulation functions for a lot of figures giving the line a nice aesthetic overall. Specific to Daredevil and reused here is the great head sculpt along with the belt and leg sheath for his batons. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/center><\/p>\n

As is the case with reuse, the articulation is completely carried over and that happens to work out as well since it\u2019s got just the right balance: ball-joints at the neck, shoulders, wrists, hips, and inverted ankles; double-hinged knees & elbows; swivels at the biceps, waist, thighs, and boots; and the ab crunch. Everything comes together well and it\u2019s fun to get Daredevil is plenty of great poses. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/center><\/p>\n

The colors really needed to be top notch on a full-on repaint and thankfully it is. What mostly helps this is the articulation. The cuts are all in great places for the costume and it allows the figure to be mostly molded in the right yellows, browns, or reds. That left paint is just a few areas like the gloves (brown paint on yellow plastic, good) and the boots (yellow paint on brown plastic, not so good). <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/center><\/p>\n

The D logo is clean for the most part, but the muscle depth did raise the difficulty. The face is painted well \u2013 one nice touch I really appreciated was a dark brown line over the top of the eyes. It really enhances the definition there and helps to fake a nice shadow across the eyes despite all the bright colors. Continue to Page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n

Daredevil included the same collapsible baton as the original figure. It\u2019s still too rubbery, but it fits in both hands and looks good as long as you get a pose where it\u2019s not bent. This one is appropriately red, though I\u2019ve switched them up as the red set looks great with the regular Daredevil and the white looks just fine here. <\/p>\n

We did lose the Hobgoblin part for this release. The packaging actually aligns the figure with the Rhino wave, but there\u2019s no Rhino piece either. We actually got something much cooler: an unmasked Matt Murdock head. It\u2019s a fantastic sculpt though it doesn\u2019t quite mimic the chin of the regular head as well as it should. The only thing that would\u2019ve made it that much better? A loose cowl to fit around the neck when using this head. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/center><\/p>\n

But I digress because there\u2019s a cooler thing to do with this figure \u2013 you just have to buy an extra Chameleon from Rhino wave. If you\u2019re up for that you can pop Matt\u2019s head on that suited body. The skin tone is a tad off, the suit body is paler, but the dark blue suit with black shirt & tie seems to really fit Matt Murdock. The bad thing for me is that I didn\u2019t do that before taking these pictures and I want Chameleon\u2026 and Jameson\u2026 and Hammerhead\u2026 and now this makes me need four of that figure instead of three. It never ends\u2026<\/p>\n

Overall, this is yet another great entry in what has arguably been the best year of Marvel Legends yet. All year long, it\u2019s been the one line that I just can\u2019t quit. We\u2019ve had great figures & great build-a-figures and what\u2019s crazy is this is the 15th year of the line. They\u2019re still getting to characters they\u2019ve never done before while also doing things like this \u2013 near-perfect upgrades of old figures. This Daredevil is the last one I\u2019ll be needing for a while, at least until Hasbro figures out how to top it. <\/p>\n
