I discovered the miWorld playsets a couple months ago at our local Toys R Us.\u00a0 There wasn\u2019t a lot left on the shelves, and I ended up bringing home the Sprinkles Cupcake<\/a>\u00a0 store and some of the accessories.\u00a0 But I\u2019ve been on the lookout for that Dairy Queen ever since then, and I was super excited to see it finally restocked on our TRU shelves.<\/p>\n

\"mwdq1\"<\/p>\n

Like the Sprinkles playset, Dairy Queen is one of the smaller \u201cStarter Sets\u201d.\u00a0 It\u2019s comprised of two walls with interior stickers that show off the inside of the store, a base plate, and a cardboard cover that looks like the store\u2019s tiled floor.\u00a0 While this smaller set was hard enough to find on its own, it would have been really nice if this were one of the larger ones.\u00a0 A huge DQ just means more figures can sit around eating, which would be a great display.<\/p>\n

But even in this little space, it\u2019s the realistic touch of having an actual branded restaurant where your figures can hang out.\u00a0 Dairy Queen goes even further than Sprinkles with the wall designs.\u00a0 Sprinkles had drawn designs, where even the pictures of the products were illustrations.\u00a0 DQ\u2019s design looks like it was put together in Photoshop with pictures of their actual store designs and food.<\/p>\n

The back wall has illustrations of the bricks, counter, ice cream machine and heating lamps.\u00a0 But underneath those lamps are actual pics of chicken tenders, hot dogs, burgers and fries.\u00a0 Even the signs at the top have the actual food shown.\u00a0 The other side is even cooler\u2026 with a selection of realistic looking ice cream bars and cakes inside a couple freezer doors.\u00a0 There are even little electric sockets near the bottom of the wall.<\/p>\n

One of the neat things you can do with multiple sets, aside from setting them next to each other, is stack them up.\u00a0 Each base has grooves where the top of the walls can slide in, keeping both playsets stable.\u00a0 It also gives that multiple floor mall feel.\u00a0 It\u2019d be nice to have some sidewalk and stairs pieces to complete the look though.\u00a0 Continue to page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n

Like the cupcake store, the set comes with a ton of accessories.\u00a0 Food-wise you get a chocolate and strawberry sundae, a chocolate and vanilla ice cream cone, two Blizzards, a hotdog, a bun, fries, a red drink, and some cardboard boxes for the dog and fires.\u00a0 I also picked up one of the \u201cRefill Packs\u201d, which is where all the extra food in the above picture came from (although I think I misplaced an Orange Julius cup).<\/p>\n

Aside from the food, you also get a counter, a register monitor, a booth chair, a table, and a cardboard sign advertising the \u201cRoyal Treats\u201d.\u00a0 It gets a little crowded when you use all the pieces (Which is another reason I wish this set were larger.), but it does give you a lot of options for display at least.<\/p>\n

Out of all the miWorld sets, this is the one I most wanted and my favorite.\u00a0 The amount of accessories alone make this a great buy, the playset is just icing on the cake.\u00a0 The more realistic graphics were an excellent touch also, and look better both in person and in pictures.\u00a0 I\u2019m really hoping this line continues and we get enough stores to actually build a little mall playset.\u00a0 That would be amazing.<\/p>\n
