<\/a>Poor Gokai Silver.\u00a0 I\u2019ve had this figure for months now.\u00a0 When he wasn\u2019t being forgotten in a heap of post-picture taking figures, he was being pushed aside for a more pressing review.\u00a0 But no more!\u00a0 Today is his day to shine (and that pun was intended)!<\/p>\nIkari Gai is the only Earthling on the Super Sentai Gokaiger team. \u00a0He gained his abilities after saving a little girl from an oncoming truck. While in a coma from the accident, he was visited in a dream by Abare Killer, Time Fire, and Dragon Ranger.\u00a0 The three heroes saw Gai as a worthy successor and granted him the ability to become Gokai Silver and access their Great Powers.\u00a0 When Gai woke from his coma, he was completely healed and now possessed the Gokai Silver key and Mobirates.<\/p>\n
Gai probably has one of the more interesting \u201cpowers\u201d of any Ranger.\u00a0 He can use his imagination to influence and combine Ranger Keys.\u00a0 This allows him to tap into and create all new powers, ultimately leading to his Gold Mode anchor armor, which is the combined power of all fifteen sixth-hero Rangers.<\/p>\n Gai was originally dismissed by Captain Marvelous, but eventually proved himself with his excellent fighting skills and ability to cook a good meal.\u00a0 Also, being a Sentai fan boy, Gai contains an encyclopedic knowledge of all previous Ranger teams, which comes in very handy in the Gokai\u2019s search for keys and powers.<\/p>\n Although the sculpt on this figure seems similar to the other male Gokai figures, it actually differs much more than I expected.\u00a0 It\u2019s one of those instances where the smaller details of the uniform are much more noticeable on the figure than on the television.\u00a0 The biggest difference is his helmet, which is much smoother and lacks the pirate-hat look of the other members.\u00a0 It also displays an anchor symbol instead of the Gokai\u2019s Jolly Roger.\u00a0 The other large difference is Gai\u2019s upper chest.\u00a0 His jacket design lacks the multiple gold flares on the sides.\u00a0 His collar is also folded down, where as the other Gokaigers have their\u2019s flared out.<\/p>\n The smaller differences that really surprised me were the cuffs of his sleeves and boots.\u00a0 Instead of the pointed flare that the other members share, Silver\u2019s are simply rounded.\u00a0 It\u2019s not a huge difference, but it really does help set him apart from the others.<\/p>\n The painting on this figure is pretty excellent.\u00a0 The silver and gold areas of his costume have a fantastic metallic shine to them and they work perfectly with the matte black of his shirt and pants.\u00a0 The silver on Gai\u2019s helmet is the same color as his uniform, but the black is glossy and really gives it a sturdy look.\u00a0 There\u2019s also little to no slop with the white paint that outlines his symbol, which is always nice.\u00a0 One of the more interesting areas is his visor, which has a paint that changes color depending on the angle and light source.\u00a0 A very cool touch.\u00a0 Continue to page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n The articulation is on par with all my previous Figuarts.\u00a0 Gai\u2019s head, neck, torso, hips, and ankles are all ball joints.\u00a0 His shoulders are swivel\/hinges attached to a ball joint.\u00a0 His elbows and knees are double hinged, and there\u2019s also a hinge on his toe joint.\u00a0 His wrists are swivel\/hinges, and his biceps and thighs have a swivel joint.<\/p>\n Silver comes with a bunch of great accessories, most of which are extra hands.\u00a0 He comes with six pairs of hands, and one individual.\u00a0 Most of the pairs are the same as the other Gokai figures: fists, holding something wide, holding something narrow, and gun holding.\u00a0 His unique set of hands have splayed fingers in a \u201cTa-Da\u201d like pose, while the individual hand is for holding his Ranger key.<\/p>\n Gai also comes with his Silver Ranger key and Mobirates morpher.\u00a0 The key is the same as the others, only silver.\u00a0 I was a bit disappointed in his morpher though.\u00a0 Gia\u2019s is different from the other Gokaigers, and works by scanning the key when it\u2019s placed inside.\u00a0 Since the keys can be inserted into the other members\u2019 phones, I was hoping Gai\u2019s would also.\u00a0 Unfortunately it can\u2019t.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/gsil1.jpg?resize=640%2C480\")
