Glyos System Week:
Glyan Review (12 Pics)

And, as you can tell from the previous picture, that’s pretty much exactly what I’ve been doing. In addition to some fine folks on the October Toys forum helping me track down the Black Skull & Volkriun Glyans that I’d missed and another friend snagging me the white Glyan (from Japan no less), I’ve also happily kept on collecting Glyans, including the Hades Force Glyan just this Wednesday.

Now, I do mess around with these Glyans a bit (how can you not?). While I don’t build any of the cool, crazy stuff much more talented people than me build, I do like swapping the colors around and creating unique uniforms for my Glyan Forces. The last picture on the previous page took forever to setup because I had to figure out the original configurations for all the colors! I had some “more fun” configurations on my display these last few months, like in the picture above (which I smartly snapped before taking that giant group shot). When I am swapping them around, I often find myself wishing I’d picked up multiples. Glyos is addictive like that.

The good thing is the Glyan seems to have really caught on. There’s been over two dozen versions in the last year after all. And there are no signs of things slowing down, even if the Armorvor has currently stolen the spotlight. The biggest praise I can give this Glyan, other than showing you that I’ve kept buying it over and over, is to share my excitement for even more colorways. Judging from the picture above, I clearly think we need some bright green Glyans, but I’m sure most Glyos collectors could give you a list of colorways they’d like to see for this little guy too. He’s got a bright (green?) future in the Glyos system.

If you’re interested in the Glyans, there are still a handful of colors available at the Onell Design Store including the Hades Force (all black, teal accents) and the Task Force Volkriun Glyans (mixed greens with bright green accents). Check it out.

  1. I think maybe more than any other Glyos, these guys would greatly benefit from articulated elbows and knees. They’re cool little dudes, but a tad stiff IMO.

  2. That’s why Onell sells the Axis joint sets. You can give a Glyan nearly unlimited articulation with a few of them.

    1. that’s kind of what i was thinking, these guys are just begging for a reload on axis joints.

  3. Spy monkey weapons in their default configurations are way to huge for onell figures. Great for parts though!

This review caused me to do two things:

    1) Wish I hadn’t painted all of my blank white Glyans

    2) Spend the last hour reconfiguring all the two-tone glyans into monocolor schemes.
