<\/a> “Make sure that the prisoner Perfuma is placed in the darkest, dankest, dampest, dismalest dungeon we have.”<\/strong> \u2013 Hordak, She-Ra: Princess of Power, “Flowers for Hordak” (1985) <\/p>\nI imagine that most of the folks that click on a Perfuma review won\u2019t want to hear this, but I\u2019m so glad we\u2019re to the end of the main POP girls in the line. It\u2019s not that I don\u2019t think they should\u2019ve been included (I\u2019 glad they were) and it\u2019s not even that I don\u2019t like them (I do), but I\u2019m just kinda tired of them. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s been a variety of little things \u2013 removed articulation, lack of details, lack of accessories, wonky eyes; they\u2019ve just not been as fun to me as some of the other figures. So they kinda became a faction to weather. Now, we\u2019re still not done \u2013 there\u2019s plenty of Filmation POP we still need \u2013 Granita, Hunga, etc., but Perfuma concludes the unique toy characters part of the line and that little bit of closure is making me feel better about her and the other ladies of MOTU. Now, the good thing about Perfuma is that she really don\u2019t have any of the problems that have plagued other POP figures. <\/p>\n

<\/center><\/p>\nPerfuma\u2019s sculpt actually steps away from some of the other recent POP ladies and reminds me more of Bow. Her overall look is a hybrid of the Filmation look & the toy. I really like the decisions overall except for the boots. They\u2019re from the toy and they certainly keep an aesthetic going, but her long green legs and shoes just seem to fit her character better than the boots. When combined with the long skirt, it throws her colors off a bit. I like hot pink, but it could use more visible green to balance.
\nI do love the level of detail though. The gold belt and flower buckle, the etched in detail that runs throughout the dress, it all comes together nicely. <\/p>\n

<\/center><\/p>\nHer head sculpt is also well done. It\u2019s definitely a Djorde sculpt, but it\u2019s much better than Frosta\u2019s. The hair is a little more tendril-like than flowing & natural, and maybe a little too even over her forehead. The tiara is nicely done up top and that\u2019s also where the first accessory comes in. She\u2019s kinda got a giant flower on her head. It\u2019s a good flower sculpt and it fits on her head snugly. I figure I\u2019m just going to keep it up there. If we\u2019re going POP, we\u2019re going all-out POP, right?<\/p>\n

<\/center><\/p>\nThe paint is par for the line. The figure has plenty of molded colors, but the paint is crisp where it\u2019s needed. I do have to again shout out some love to the colors. I like the pink & green combo, I just wish the green was a little more prevalent. The little details like the flowers and metallic green on the trim are all sharp and look good on the figure. Articulation is also standard: ball-joints on the neck, shoulders, & hips; swivels at the biceps, wrists, waist, & thighs, single-hinge elbows, knees, & ankles. Everything works well. The skirt does limit the hips more than I would like, but some deeper poses are possible. Continue to Page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Perfuma does have an \u201cAction feature\u201d, like Stinkor & Moss Man before her, she reeks! Out of the three, I actually find her the most stinky. I\u2019m not sure of the exact fragrance used, but even though it\u2019s not as strong as the previous two offerings it just sticks in my nose in an obnoxious way. It\u2019s still a fun thing to do and good for the line, but whew! <\/p>\n I\u2019ve already mentioned the flower-tiara for one accessory, also included is the same-old, same-old shield, and then her toy accessory. It\u2019s probably the one really bad part of the whole deal. On the classic toy, it functioned like a backpack, but it can\u2019t do that here. It\u2019s been given new life as a rifle \u2013 which is totally cool, except that it\u2019s just too dense & heavy for her to hold. If you put it in her hand, the shoulder gives up and lets it fall. If you can get the shoulder to hold up, the figure falls over. It\u2019s kinda of a big design flaw (I guess they had to work one into this last POP girl somewhere). The bloom does come out and the rest can be held by the figure if you’re so inclined though. <\/p>\n Overall, I\u2019m kinda rushing through this review (as if you can\u2019t tell). I don\u2019t know why. The sculpt is there, the paint & articulation is there \u2013 everything is pretty top notch except for the flowerifle being too heavy. I could nitpick a few other things like the rubbery \u201cspell casting\u201d hand and the dress being a little too long, but the truth is that this is a pretty good figure and a nice addition to the line.
