There’s already two sides of debate to Moss Man. Some fans are upset with how he turned out while others think he looks great. For my money, I’m impressed with how well Mattel did on the flocking. He doesn’t looked partially flocked at all. He looks like I would’ve expected had they released him without mention problems. They did a great job. I’m not sure about the longer loin cloth (possibly to cover the lack of flocking on the hip joints?), but it’s certainly not an issue.<\/p>\n

Still some fans aren’t happy with the flocking, particularly on the heads and covering the ears. I wouldn’t mind seeing him with this ears unflocked either. But I’m not upset by it. It’s such an easy fix (the problem with flock is that it comes off) that I don’t see a reason to get upset over it. Your mileage may vary.<\/p>\n

Finally, some fans are upset by being shown one thing and given another. Their is a solution to that and it’s for Mattel to not show us any product until just before release. We would just being seeing Battle Cat and Trap Jaw now, weeks before they go on sale. But we want to see them early, Mattel wants to show early, and that’s why the system works the way it does. Personally, I can’t think of any MOTU figure that was such a disappointment when it was in hand despite the “bait-and-switch” claims. Adora may be an exception, but she’s exactly that – an exception. Some may not look as good, but there’s nothing in the world that can make a chinese factory worker paint these with the same love and affection the 4 Horsemen give the hand-painted prototypes we see first. That’s life. It’s not just MOTUC, or just Mattel, or even just the toy industry. It’s near impossible for a mass produced toy to equal the quality of a hand-crafted single piece. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
