Oh, I\u2019m cheating a little bit on this one, aren\u2019t I? This would be funnier (to me, at least) if Daredevil had still never been an Avenger, but Bendis finally ruined that joke a few years ago with a brief stint. I suppose that helps my case today though as Daredevil was, in fact, briefly an Avenger. Anyway, I figure this review is still somewhat topical as we\u2019re just coming off that awesome Daredevil show on Netflix. I\u2019d love to see some figures from that show, but I will happily wait until we see a little further into season two and get some possible future costume tweaks incorporated before the design sees plastic. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/center><\/p>\n

Daredevil, the figure, is yet another iteration of \u201chow many times am I going to buy this guy\u201d. I don\u2019t just mean in the the old Secret Wars lines or that really cool 5\u201d one in the Spider-Man line\u2026 Tank Attack, I think? No, I mean in Marvel Legends. I bought the very first grimaced one in Spider-Man Classics like fourteen years ago. I upgraded to the update in Series 6 even though I\u2019m still not sure it was better. I upgraded to the still not quite right Face-Off version. And I bought the Hasbro version \u2013 which was probably the best\u2026 until now. I think. <\/p>\n

The latest Daredevil is built on what has quickly become \u201cThe\u201d buck for Marvel Legends. I know some folks prefer a more extensive buck library, I don\u2019t begrudge them that, but I think back to Super Powers & Secret Wars, and there\u2019s a familiar comfort to a line having a little more visual homogeneity. It just works when it comes to most superhero costumes. Daredevil is no exception. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/center><\/p>\n

The buck itself is just fantastic. It\u2019s comparable to that DCUC buck that ran from one end of the line to the other. It\u2019s got good proportions and looks sharp. If I had to nitpick, I\u2019d say the elbow cutouts for the double hinge are a little too deep, but I like the range of movement. The articulation is the other half of what makes this a great buck \u2013 nothing I want is missing: ball-joints at the neck, shoulders, wrists, hips, and inverted ankles; swivels at the biceps, waist, thighs, & calves; double-hinges at the knees & elbows, and the ab crunch. Everything works pretty well. I wish the ratchet in the ab crunch was a little less rigid and the hips a little tighter, but this buck is a ton of fun to pose. Particularly when it\u2019s Daredevil. He\u2019s up there with Spidey in the great poses department. <\/p>\n

So what makes this buck Daredevil? Well, just a few bits really. The add-on belt and thigh harness for the batons are some softer plastic add-ons. They both work, though the belt on mine never quite stays where I want it. And then there\u2019s the head sculpt. Easily the best DD head sculpt yet. No more grimace, slight amusement, or passive disinterest. Finally, determination! It\u2019s a great look. I just need a new Punisher for him to stare down… Continue to Page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n

Paint is barely worth mentioning, but what\u2019s here is good. The logo is crisp and the chin is painted spot-on with sharp lines (Batman\/Mattel could take lessons). The subtle red on the eyes really works. The only improvement here would be the gloves. I don\u2019t need a forearm swivel here, but that would make this perfect, match the boots, and not have the scratches in the paint on the forearms. <\/p>\n

Alright, now the only thing I don\u2019t like about the figure. The billy club. It looks good. The two pieces can connect or be held separately (no connecting rope though) and fit snugly in the harness. They look slightly oversized there, but no biggie. No, the problem is that they\u2019re eraser level soft. I don\u2019t know how Daredevil can meet out justice with movie props. He does hold them well, but kinda makes me wish I\u2019d kept any of the accessories from all those Daredevil figures I sold to get here. Oh, and there are some Hobgoblin parts. I’ve united another collector with those already, so no pics. Daredevil includes the left arm and a clear pumpkin bomb for the BAF. <\/p>\n

Overall though? I love this figure. The buck is a great starting point, the specific Daredevil bits finish it off (I love the head sculpt) and the paint and articulation completes the package. The only thing I\u2019d really change is those gosh darn billy clubs. This finally has to be the one. I\u2019ve got it. No more upgrades or updates for me. Unless they finally make Armored Daredevil in Legends scale. I\u2019d be all over that. <\/p>\n
