<\/a>I\u2019m finally able to wrap up DC Collectibles Animated reviews with a quick look at Two-Face. He was probably my least anticipated from this first wave. I\u2019m a big fan of both BTAS & TNBA, but I definitely lean towards the BTAS designs. <\/p>\n

I like plenty of the TNBA resdesigns, but I think very few are superior (Scarecrow, maybe?), many I like the same (Freeze), and a few I\u2019m not a fan of much at all (Riddler). Two-Face falls into a different category, he\u2019s not changed much at all. <\/p>\n

Two-Face\u2019s update was limited to adapting him to the sleeker, more minimalist look for the new show. It\u2019s okay. The suit doesn\u2019t change much, but Harvey\u2019s face & Two-Face\u2019s\u2026 um, face get just a little two sleek. Still, I\u2019m a sucker. I\u2019ve been having such a fun time picking up this line that I couldn\u2019t resist grabbing all four and so I ordered Two-Face alongside Freeze. <\/p>\n

Like the previous three figures, the sculpt is again a particularly impressive part of the figure. Gentle Giant did a great job on translating these guys from two dimension into three. The suit body looks fantastic. The suit coat is a soft plastic overlay, but it works seamlessly with the base figure and looks great. One thing of note is those teeny, tinesy feet! I swore this guy couldn\u2019t stand, but he stands remarkably well despite those two-thpicks. <\/p>\n

The other big highlight is the head sculpt. While TNBA Harvey\u2019s not quite as cool his BTAS version, it still echoes that fun design and the sculpt brings it to life well. There is just one no-no on the sculpt though. Two-Face\u2019s iconic coin seemed missing when it was included on the accessory list. Turns out, it\u2019s sculpted into one of the alternate hands. On the\u2026 uh, one hand, this ensures I\u2019ll never lose it, it does make for a cool display possibility, and technically, I can put in an alternate hand without the coin if I want to. So I can forgive this cardinal sin of toymaking this time. <\/p>\n

Articulation for Two-Face was a little less than I expected. He features a lot of the same as the other three figures \u2013 ball-joints at the neck, shoulders, & elbows, the h-joints at the hips, hinges, at the knee, and the waist swivel. That\u2019s been on almost all the figures so far. Two-Face got shorted at the wrists and ankles though with swivels replacing the ball joints. This isn\u2019t terrible, but it is limiting; particularly on the wrists where the small range on the ball-jointed elbows could\u2019ve used a little more help. Continue to Page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n

The paint work on the figure is fine, it\u2019s almost not notable. That\u2019s pretty good for a high contrast figure like Two-Face. The scarred side of his face is probably the make or break part of the paint job and mine came okay. The eyes and mouth are sharp but that hair line is a little questionable. And I did have a bit of black paint on the white side of the coat (it is extra paint and the piece is molded in flesh tone), but other than that everything looks sharp. <\/p>\n

Two-Face is the accessory king in wave one. He\u2019s got the standard turnaround art stand (though the giant apparatus on the clasp doesn\u2019t stay up well on this stand, it falls his knees pretty easily), and three sets of hands: fists, relaxed (w\/ coin), & grasping. Based on the other figures, you give him one offensive weapon and he\u2019s probably good to go. That\u2019s not the case, in addition the stand and hands, Two-Face has got seven more accessories! <\/p>\n

All seven hail from Two-Face\u2019s first appearance in TNBA, \u201cSins of the Father\u201d. Some are typical Two-Face pieces like the pistol and the Tommy gun, but the others are unique to this episode: a stopwatch, red & blue canisters and a bag to hold them, and the gas mask Two-Face used in the episode. These are all great pieces. I love that the bag can hold the canisters (& stay mostly closed). He can hold both guns very well. And the gas mask is sweet and fits on him perfectly. I am slightly concerned that I\u2019ll scrape up the face with the mask, but he looks great with it on. <\/p>\n

Overall, Two-Face is another great addition the line. He\u2019s my least favorite of the four (though Freeze is probably the weakest of the four), but he still came out very well done. This line is coming together so well (as long as nothing breaks!) that I can\u2019t fathom it took so long to do. I didn\u2019t even know I would want these as much as I do, even the TNBA designs I\u2019m not as keen on. I have heard that this version is so similar to BTAS that it could preclude that as a figure. I hope not. They would look similar next to each other for sure, but I still would like the original. I hope they do both. <\/p>\n
