\n<\/a> It\u2019s fair to see that my enthusiasm for Star Wars Black has cooled. I still like it. I\u2019m still happy to host that checklist over there. But after thoroughly enjoying the first wave, the second wave taught me I didn\u2019t need them all. I still haven\u2019t reviewed Leia \u2013 I need to swap her out for one with better paint.<\/p>\n

I still haven\u2019t reviewed Obi-Wan. I don\u2019t love him a whole lot. I did love the Stormtrooper, but I didn\u2019t buy Bespin Luke even though I thought wanted to. I skipped Wave Three altogether. And don\u2019t even get me started on Jabba. I\u2019m looking to Wave Four for some fresh air \u2013 Chewie & Vader, in particular. <\/p>\n

Until then though, things have been quiet. At least, until, Walgreens decided to put me back in full-on toy hunting mode. Walmart is for groceries these days. TRU is about gearing up for the kid. And Walgreens? Walgreens is where I go to buy toys (plus jerky, pretzels, and Coke). As it pertains to Star Wars Black, I\u2019ve been searching for one of things I find particularly cool: Prototype Armor Boba Fett. <\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know why I find White Boba so cool. I like Star Wars. I think the Bounty Hunters are fun. I don\u2019t particularly love Boba Fett, at least not in green & grey. But ever since I saw that first picture of Fett as a \u201cSuper Trooper\u201d clad in all-white, standing next to Joe Johnston. I was hooked. It looked so cool! So I bought a bunch of Vintage Collection figures & collected UPCs for the 4\u201d version. I saved up and snagged it in Sixth Scale. And I\u2019ve gone to Walgreens eleventy billion times to find this guy! <\/p>\n

Now, I do have the Star Wars Black Boba Fett from Series III, so this figure isn\u2019t new to me. I liked that figure overall. It had a fantastic sculpt, mostly good articulation \u2013 it\u2019s really been one of the highlights of the line up to this point. I think the only real hesitation I had with that first figure was the articulation being blocked at hips by the sculpt. It wasn\u2019t a dealbreaker, but it did muck some poses up quite a bit. Since this is that figure all over again, that awesome is now bundled in white. The same frustrating hips are there, but the good articulation is all brought along as well. And that solid, detailed sculpt? Well, it\u2019s here too \u2013 which trims some points from the figure. See, this Prototype Armor is brand-spanking new. Or, it\u2019s supposed to be. And that detailed Boba Fett sculpt comes back around to make this figure slightly off kilter with each and every dent & ding. For the most part, I don\u2019t care much. \u2018Cept that big ol\u2019 dent in the helmet. In that sense, this figure just came too soon. Jango will have pristine helmet someday. For now, this guy works and I\u2019ll enjoy him as is. Even with that big black holster that oughta still be white! <\/p>\n

The paintwork on my figure was mostly good. I got to pick one with a clean black visor, so I took him even though there are a few spots of black paint where it shouldn\u2019t be here and there. It was worth the tradeoff. I might like if the figure were a brighter, Mr. Clean white, but this is infinitely better than the grey on the 4\u201d version. That bright white cape serves a good reminder of what I would\u2019ve like to seen. <\/p>\n

Boba\u2019s standard two accessories are included again, his rifle and pistol. Both are cast in black and he holds both well. The pistol should hang from the belt here, but it does have that aforementioned holster it fits in. I\u2019m cool with that, but I would\u2019ve liked to see that holster in white. So much that I\u2019ve mentioned it twice. <\/p>\n

Overall, I\u2019m happy this figure got made. A little more money in the budget might\u2019ve made it better, but it\u2019s exciting to get a toy of something that I really like in my preferred scale. I love the Sideshow version \u2013 it\u2019s awesome. The 4\u201d version is okay, but clearly I never opened it. This figure is the one I was waiting for and it lives up the hype. It even had some old fashioned toy hunting mixed in thanks to Walgreens. And now my Prototype Fett itch is soothed\u2026 until Hasbro, or heaven forbid Gentle Giant, offer up a vintage version! <\/p>\n
