I always felt Glimmer was one of the more fun characters in the Princess of Power series.\u00a0 While not a completely ditzy sidekick like Madame Razz, Glimmer shined with an amount of optimism that made her entertaining, if not naive.\u00a0 Of course that\u2019s probably not the quality rebels look for most in their leader when trying to overthrow a tyrannical ruler.\u00a0 Thank god for She-Ra.<\/p>\n

The Four Horsemen have done a fantastic job of turning out another attractive face sculpt.\u00a0 The PoP model given 3D form, she fits in perfectly with the rest of the girls while still retaining her own unique look.\u00a0 I was also glad to see the long sculpted hair was posed far enough from the body to not get in the way of articulation.<\/p>\n

Glimmer\u2019s body is built on the standard female buck and based more on the Filmation model than the original figure, which is my preference as well.\u00a0 The body does have more newly sculpted pieces than I expected.\u00a0 There\u2019s the top and bottom of her tunic with the angular diamond design and big shoulder pads.\u00a0 Her boots and bracers are also new and share that same diamond theme.\u00a0 She also has a new left hand which was sculpted open for spell casting or just holding that little orb she comes with.<\/p>\n

Glimmer\u2019s coloring is a bit on the pastel side.\u00a0 The light shades of lavender blue and pink all look good together, but the little details really allow the palette to stand out.\u00a0 Both blues and purples are accented with a darker metallic version of the same color, while the light blue has a sparkly pearlized sheen to it.\u00a0 Another nice touch is that they also painted her fingernails.\u00a0 Continue to page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n

Articulation is what you\u2019d expect.\u00a0 She\u2019s got a ball jointed head.\u00a0 Her shoulders and hips are swivel hinges.\u00a0 Swivel joints at the biceps, wrists, waist and thighs.\u00a0 The elbows and knees are hinged, while the ankles are on a hinged rocker joint.\u00a0 All around pretty good movement, especially since the hair doesn\u2019t get in the way.<\/p>\n

Glimmer comes with two accessories.\u00a0 First is her large magic staff.\u00a0 As far as I know this was based on the original toy and never showed up in the cartoon.\u00a0 It\u2019s a pretty nice looking piece with a blooming flower sculpt and a jewel in the center.<\/p>\n

Her other accessory is a little crystal ball that fits perfectly in her left hand.\u00a0 I\u2019m not really sure where this piece comes from (help me out PoP fans!), but it makes a cool accessory and I\u2019m definitely up for as many artifacts as we can get from the line.<\/p>\n

All around there\u2019s nothing really new or innovative here.\u00a0 Glimmer\u2019s just a good solid figure that adds to the main cast of the PoP series.\u00a0 I\u2019m really surprised we hadn\u2019t gotten to her sooner in the lineup, but an earlier figure might not have gotten us so many new costume pieces or two accessories.\u00a0 Now I have to figure out how to make room on my PoP shelf for the incoming expansion.<\/p>\n
