While I\u2019d like to have chain swords for my Gipsy Danger, I didn\u2019t much care for the grittier \u201cbattle damaged\u201d look of the new figure.\u00a0 So I\u2019ll be ending my wave two reviews with Striker Eureka.\u00a0 Not only is he my favorite Jaeger so far, but he\u2019s also a great example of how NECA has improved the overall design and execution of the overall line.<\/p>\n

\"steu1\"<\/p>\n

In the Pacific Rim universe, Striker Eureka is the most advanced Jaeger created.\u00a0 Not only is he more powerful and deadly, but he\u2019s the fastest too.\u00a0 This is nicely expressed through his sports-car-with-jet-engines motif, making him look much more like a modern anime mech than his robo brethren.<\/p>\n

\"steu2\"<\/p>\n

Striker may be more sophisticated, but he\u2019s also the shortest of the three Jaegers made so far.\u00a0 It\u2019s not by much, but when you combine it with his bulky chest armor and shoulder pads then it gives him a very stocky build.\u00a0 He\u2019s like a dense boxer or mixed martial artist, which also really suits the personality of his pilots.<\/p>\n

Articulation on this little guy is pretty amazing, especially when compared to wave one\u2019s Gipsy and Crimson.\u00a0 He\u2019s got a ball jointed head, although it\u2019s a bit limited by his high collar armor.\u00a0 The ankles are also ball joints, and the waist is a swivel.\u00a0 The elbows, wrists, and knees are all hinges, and the hips are swivel\/hinges.\u00a0 His most impressive joints are easily the shoulders.\u00a0 They\u2019re a hinge connected to the body with a swivel hinge, giving him a huge range of motion and reach.\u00a0 Continue to\u00a0 page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n

Striker\u2019s paint job is similar enough to Gipsy\u2019s and Crimson\u2019s to fit in, but it\u2019s much less sloppy (or at least the ones I\u2019ve seen are).\u00a0 The lines are a lot crisper, especially on the smaller details like the face plate and various exhaust ports.\u00a0 The dirty wash is also more consolidated and does a better job of bringing out the metallic silver of the underlying coat.\u00a0 There\u2019s even some nice silver weathering on the black gears and various under-parts.<\/p>\n

\"steu5\"<\/p>\n

Striker technically comes with two sets of accessories: the sting-blades that are attached to his forearms.\u00a0 Each blade connects separately to the arm and can swivel back and forth.\u00a0 They can also be popped off if you want to display him without them.<\/p>\n

On a side note, I\u2019m really curious to see if we\u2019ll get another version of Striker with a new chest and his anti-kaiju missile launchers exposed.\u00a0 If so, I hope they include some shooting missile and explosion effect parts\u2026<\/p>\n

\"steu6\"<\/p>\n

All around I\u2019m really happy with Striker.\u00a0 He\u2019s a nice little mech figure that features better articulation and a couple of weapons.\u00a0 Like Leatherback, these improvements put him way ahead of the first wave figures, and gives me a lot of hope for the upcoming wave three.<\/p>\n
