Nick TMNT Mousers 7-Pack"},"content":{"rendered":"

I\u2019ve always loved Mousers.\u00a0 They have this great sleek yet intimidating look, like little robot dinosaurs. \u00a0Even though he was way too big, the huge walking Mouser from the original TMNT toy line was always one of my favorite figures.\u00a0 So I was super excited with the news that a Mouser 7-pack was going to be released for the Nick Turtles toy line.<\/p>\n

\"msrs1\"<\/p>\n

The first thing I have to do is give major props to the folks at Playmates for doing this right and releasing these little guys in a multi-pack.\u00a0 They could have easily just packed in one or two as accessories for another figure.\u00a0 But Mousers should always come in overwhelming swarms, and getting seven for less than ten bucks is fantastic.<\/p>\n

\"msrs2\"<\/p>\n

I was also really glad to see (both in the show and toy line) that they went with a very classic Mouser design.\u00a0 The round head and body with long chicken legs looks perfect.\u00a0 While there isn\u2019t a ton of detail to the figures, you can see sculpted bolts where the leg joints are.\u00a0 There is also a little collar area around the neck, and there is a wavy line texture sculpted into the insides of their mouths.<\/p>\n

\"msrs3\"<\/p>\n

To add a little diversity to this small army, the Mousers have been molded in different colors.\u00a0 Each pack contains three silver versions that look like they stepped right off the assembly line.\u00a0 There are two dark gray ones that look a little worn or dirty, like they\u2019ve seen some action or have been running around the sewer for a while.\u00a0 Lastly are two black ones.\u00a0 I\u2019m assuming they\u2019re a stealth version, which is a pretty cool idea.\u00a0 I wouldn\u2019t mind seeing a few different specialized colors like yellow and red pop up in future repacks.<\/p>\n

\"msrs4\"<\/p>\n

Aside from the molded colors, there really isn\u2019t much more in the way of paint apps.\u00a0 Each figure has a red eye on the center of their head, but it seems to be more of a tampo than a paint app.\u00a0 Interestingly, the black Mousers actually do have red paint detailing the sculpted lines on the inside of their mouths.\u00a0 It\u2019s a really cool effect on the black figures, and makes me wish they would have done it on the other colors as well.\u00a0 Continue to page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n

Mousers are pretty basic when it comes to articulation.\u00a0 Luckily, we don\u2019t need much.\u00a0 Their jaws are hinged, and can open pretty wide.\u00a0 Their heads are on a ball joint that has a really nice range of movement.\u00a0 Lastly, their thighs are swivel joints.<\/p>\n

\"msrs6\"<\/p>\n

In a perfect world their knees and ankles would have also been articulated, but I have to admit it isn\u2019t really necessary.\u00a0 You can get them into some really nice walking poses, especially considering there\u2019s only one joint on each leg.\u00a0 The majority of their personality really comes from the wide range in their mouth and head.<\/p>\n

\"msrs7\"<\/p>\n

One thing I really love is that you can easily pop the head off the body, and even unhinge the jaw if you want.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if this was Playmate\u2019s official plan, but it really makes for some fantastic battle damaged and destroyed Mouser scenes.<\/p>\n

\"msrs8\"<\/p>\n

I really don\u2019t have any complaints about these Mouser figures.\u00a0 I can see where someone would want them to be a bit more articulated, but I can easily overlook that because of how well done they are already.\u00a0 Also, more articulation would have probably meant less figures per pack, and I wouldn\u2019t want to see that.\u00a0 Seven is the perfect amount.\u00a0 You\u2019ve got a nice little group to fight your figures, or for a few more dollars you can build your army exponentially.<\/p>\n
