I don\u2019t normally talk about packaging, but NECA did such a great job with this figure\u2019s box design that it\u2019s half the reason I wanted it.\u00a0 The outside of the box uses the same cover picture and design of the original NES game\u2019s box.<\/p>\n The back features a shortened version of the original box\u2019s text blurb, while the side pictures have been replaced with shots of the figure and his accessories.\u00a0 But one of my favorite design elements is the fake wear and tear to make the box actually look like it\u2019s been around for twenty years, just like the game.<\/p>\n They did a fantastic job with the inside also.\u00a0 The cover opens to reveal a window display.\u00a0 The left side features one of the cabins from the game in its 8bit splendor and the words from the Game Over screen.\u00a0 The right side has the Jason figure standing in front of an interior cabin shot.\u00a0 Along the top and bottom is the classic info bar display from the game.<\/p>\n If there were ever a figure I\u2019d want to display in box, it\u2019s definitely this one.\u00a0 Fortunately, Jason can be easily removed and replaced without damaging anything.\u00a0 So you can have fun with the figure and then put him back on display.<\/p>\n NES Jason is a repaint of the regular Jason from NECA\u2019s seven inch Friday the 13th<\/sup> Series 1.\u00a0 I don\u2019t own the original figure, but from what I can tell online there doesn\u2019t seem to be any sculpted differences between the two.\u00a0 He\u2019s wearing a normal shirt and pants (which tends to look like a jumpsuit when it\u2019s all one color), and behind the mask he has his classic hideous face sculpt.<\/p>\n There are no painted details on the figure.\u00a0 The majority of his body has been molded in the neon purple from the NES game.\u00a0 His hands and mask are also molded in a mouthwash translucent blue that almost looks ghostly.\u00a0 Continue to page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n The reason for the different colors is because his mask, hands, feet, and the blades of his weapons all glow-in-the-dark.\u00a0 While the weapons use the traditional green, Jason\u2019s mask and body parts were done in blue.\u00a0 You don\u2019t see a lot of non-green glow-in-the-dark these days, and I\u2019m always happy when a company can give us a little change from the norm.<\/p>\n Jason\u2019s articulation is pretty good.\u00a0 His head, torso, and wrists are on ball joints.\u00a0 I think his feet are too, but they\u2019re so limited by the pants sculpt that it\u2019s hard to tell.\u00a0 His shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees are all swivel hinges.\u00a0 He also has a swivel joint at the top of his thigh.\u00a0 All around it\u2019s pretty standard for what NECA has been churning out lately.<\/p>\n Jason comes with three accessories.\u00a0 First is his classic hockey mask.\u00a0 Then there are his two weapons, a machete and an axe.\u00a0 Both weapons were used in the game and I\u2019m glad NECA included both of them, especially since he can only hold one at a time.\u00a0 Both weapons are made out of glow-in-the-dark green and have brown painted handles.<\/p>\n![\"nesj01\"](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/nesj01.jpg\")
