is one of those brands that never get the right kind of toy love. There were statuesque McFarlanes back in the day, expensive Hot Toys & Play Arts Kai figs that don’t fit in with my other figures. But Kaiyodo has finally made one that fits in with my collection!

First things first, this isn’t Solid Snake. This figure is Naked Snake from the MGS Peace Walker video game. I’m pretty happy with this because I actually like Naked Snake more than Solid (gasp!). My favorite game so far has been MGS3: Snake Eater, and I really enjoy seeing the exploits that turned Naked Snake into Big Boss.

<img decoding="async" sculpt on this figure is pretty good, but you definitely have to take a few things into consideration. The art for the Metal Gear games, done by Yoji Shinkawa has always been very stylized. While I love it, and actually think it fits the series quite well, it’s definitely hard to translate it into a realistic 3D model, like a toy.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23440" second thing you have to keep in mind is that this figure was sculpted by Katsuhisa Yamaguchi, who also brings a very stylistic look to the figures he sculpts. Sometimes this style can look fantastic, like on the Vash the Stampede figure. Other times it just looks like a mess of wrinkles and strange proportions, like on Wolfwood.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23441" definitely suffers from a few of these strange proportions, but all around he’s definitely still recognizable. Of course the sneaking suit helps a lot also. All the small details like straps, seams, and even armor bulges make the figure look like he just stepped out of the game. I also love the added canteen and pouches around his waist and upper legs.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23442" src="https://i0.wp.com/www.itsalltrue.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/rns4.jpg?resize=640%2C480" alt="" width="640" height="480" the body, Snake’s head sculpt is also a bit stylized. But again, with features like the bandana, eye patch, scraggly beard and mullet, he’s definitely recognizable as Snake. One thing about the headsculpt that really blew my mind was that his eye is articulated. You have to take his face plate off to get to the tiny little knob to move it around or even take it out. This adds a ton more personality to a figure that only has one expression and one eye. Continue to page most Revoltech figures, Snake has wide range of motion. His head, neck, shoulders, ebows, mid chest, waist, hips, knees, and ankles are all revolver joints. His wrists are the only parts that aren’t revolvers, but they’re still swivel hinges because of the pin joint. Even his clothing is a bit articulated. His knee pads function with a pin joint, like the wrists, and his bandanna is a swivel. This pretty much gives you any pose you want, including laying flat on the ground.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23444" comes with a ton of accessories. First are the extra hands, eleven total. Most of them are in a gripping pose and ready to pull the trigger, but you also get fists, flat palm karate type, and fingers splayed like they’re grabbing or reaching for something.

He also comes with the classic boomerang shaped translucent stand, or the effects stand in white. There are also plenty of translucent arms to choose from. And surprisingly, the ever present orange Revoltech box was painted gray for Snake. That’s a nice touch, because I definitely have enough of those orange ones.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter accessories, Snake has his classic pistol with silencer, a rifle, a stun rod, and two brackets that allow him to hang from this bars. I don’t think I really needed those last two, but I’m not going to say no to extra accessories.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" I can’t wait to use them with all my other figures. I especially love the box, which has been decorated to celebrate Metal Gear’s 25th anniversary.

<a moves. This is the first figure I’ve ever owned that does that. I’d love to seem more Metal Gear Revoltechs in the future. They don’t have to get too extensive, but
