\/><\/a>With the SH Monsterarts Destoroyah released and King Kong almost here, I thought I\u2019d take a quick look at one of the early items in the line.\u00a0 The Mechagodzilla effects parts and Garuda aircraft have easily become my favorite bonus set so far, even at its inflated price.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Bluefin has done a fantastic job at bringing the Monsterarts line to all of us non-Japanese consumers.\u00a0 Even the Tamashii web exclusives have been made available to us at retail, which is a fairly new development that I love.\u00a0 Middleman fees from Japan can get steep and saving money while showing where the support for the line is really coming from is good for everyone.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef01.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23344\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef01.jpg?resize=640%2C476\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"476\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef01.jpg?w=640 640w, \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, SH Monsterarts success outside of Japan wasn\u2019t expected in the beginning.\u00a0 So when the first two figures were released (Godzilla and Mechagodzilla), there were plans to bring over their Tamashii web exclusive accessory\/effects sets.\u00a0 Now these two sets are easily the rarest items in the line so far, and their secondary market value has shot up as people try to complete their collection.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef02.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23345\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef02.jpg?resize=640%2C445\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef02.jpg?w=640 640w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef02.jpg?resize=300%2C208 300w, href=\"http:\/\/www.itsalltrue.net\/?p=18908\" target=\"_blank\">Godzilla\u2019s set<\/a> is the cheaper of the two.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s because Bandai made more of them or if it\u2019s because they\u2019re not essential to complete the figure, but either way you can find it for about eighty dollars if you have patience and shop around.\u00a0 Mechagodzilla\u2019s set is a different story.\u00a0 Not only does it have its own unique item, the Garuda aircraft, but it\u2019s also the only way to create a Super Mechagodzilla figure for the line.\u00a0 This easily pushed the set well over a hundred dollars on the secondary market.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef03.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23346\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef03.jpg?resize=640%2C366\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef03.jpg?w=640 640w, glance the set doesn\u2019t seem very impressive.\u00a0 It only consists of a stand, two G-Crusher devices, the Garuda its beam effects and docking parts.\u00a0 But what it lacks in items, it makes up for in design.\u00a0 Ever since MOGUERA was released, I\u2019ve said his engineering easily makes him the best figure in the line.\u00a0 That\u2019s still true, but a close runner up has to be the Garuda.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef04.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23347\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef04.jpg?resize=640%2C489\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"489\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef04.jpg?w=640 640w, surprised to discover the ship was made entirely out of plastic.\u00a0 I thought there may be a few die-cast parts, like Mechagodzilla.\u00a0 That doesn\u2019t take away from its complexity though.\u00a0 There is plenty of sculpted panel lines, overlapping parts, and even articulation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef05.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23348\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef05.jpg?resize=640%2C480\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef05.jpg?w=640 640w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef05.jpg?resize=300%2C225 300w, cockpit area is easily visible and stands out amid the large thrusters, wings, and guns.\u00a0 Seeing the design up close, it reminds me of the GI Joe Space Shuttle.\u00a0 This cockpit area is on a rail and can be slid forward or back depending on what mode you want to put the ship in.\u00a0 The paint of the main body is a sleek white with darkened airbrushed areas that make the craft look used.\u00a0 There\u2019s also a tampoed G-Force logo just above the wings on each side.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef06.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23349\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef06.jpg?resize=640%2C503\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"503\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef06.jpg?w=640 640w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef06.jpg?resize=300%2C235 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef06.jpg?resize=400%2C314 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Garuda\u2019s two large cannons are also articulated and can move up or down.\u00a0 The barrels have been painted metallic silver and were also given airbrushed details around the seams, giving it a very realistic effect.\u00a0 The tip of each barrel contains a translucent beam emitter.\u00a0 These pieces can be removed and replaces with energy effects that are translucent blue with more airbrushed highlights.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itsalltrue.net\/?p=23341&amp;page=2\">Continue to page 2&#8230;<\/a><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef07.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23350\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef07.jpg?resize=640%2C376\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef07.jpg?w=640 640w, to the rest of the ship, the rear area of the Garuda looks a bit plain.\u00a0 It\u2019s mostly taken up by the thrusters and I was surprised to discover that each one is on a ball joint.\u00a0 This is one of those tiny details you don\u2019t expect but love that they included.\u00a0 The thrusters themselves also have a nice amount of detailed sculpting, and I was again surprised that each one contained a translucent orange center. \u00a0Another nice touch that wasn\u2019t crucial but is definitely appreciated.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef08.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23351\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef08.jpg?resize=640%2C479\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef08.jpg?w=640 640w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef08.jpg?resize=300%2C224 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef08.jpg?resize=400%2C299 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The underside of Garuda is just as detailed as the top, but this is where more crazy engineering comes in.\u00a0 In its normal mode, the underside has a single peg hole for the flight stand to plug into.\u00a0 But the center panel and the two cylinders that are bumped up against the wings can be removed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef09.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23352\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef09.jpg?resize=640%2C461\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"461\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef09.jpg?w=640 640w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef09.jpg?resize=300%2C216 300w, panel remains off, while the two side areas are replaced with pieces that allow the ship to dock with Mechagodzilla.\u00a0 This set also contains a new back plate for Mechagodzilla that is designed to interlock seamlessly with the Garuda.\u00a0 You can definitely tell these pieces were all planned at the same time because of how flawlessly they work together.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef10.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23353\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef10.jpg?resize=640%2C480\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef10.jpg?w=640 640w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef10.jpg?resize=300%2C225 300w, set also includes the two G-Crusher weapons for Mechagodzilla.\u00a0 Each G-Crusher is on a thin bendable wire and is designed to plug into Mecha-G\u2019s forearms.\u00a0 The G-Crusher devices also have a nice amount of sculpted paneling detail on them, especially considering how small they are.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef11.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23354\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef11.jpg?resize=640%2C486\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"486\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.itsalltrue.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/mgef11.jpg?w=640 640w, I\u2019m way happier with this set than I was expecting.\u00a0 Mechagodzilla looks tons better with his backpack on, and the Garuda itself has impressive amounts of detail and design.\u00a0 Like I said earilier, this set tends to be over a hundred dollars.\u00a0 That\u2019s a daunting amount for bonus accessories, and you should definitely look around for the cheapest one possible.\u00a0 But I
