not really planning on buying all the TF Prime Predacons, but the few that are out have interested me enough that I seem to be heading in that direction. So today I’ve got a little review for a little figure I picked up a couple weeks ago at Target: Cyberverse Twinstrike.

I don’t buy a lot of the Cyberverse figures. I think as a kid I would have had fun with them (especially since they have their own playsets now), but as an adult collector I really like my figures to have a nice amount of detail and poseability. (I also like scale, but we all know that’s pretty laughable when it comes to Transformers.) I probably wouldn’t have picked up Twinstrike at all if it wasn’t for the nostalgia factor.

<a not really sure why, but as a kid I had a lot of Transformers that turned into animals. I don’t remember asking for them specifically, I think my parents just bought them for me because I liked monsters in general. So instead of cars, trucks and jets, I ended up with figures like Octopunch, Flamefeather, and a few Seacons. But one of the more interesting beasts I had was a little yellowish orange two-headed dragon named Sinnertwin.

That pretty much guaranteed I’d be picking up his modern day counterpart.

<a I bought Twinstrike for his beast form alone. He’s pretty much a perfect update of Sinnertwin’s alt mode. His sleek body actually makes him look more dangerous, like he’s built to chase down prey on the battlefield. His two heads also look much more dangerous with their added spiky scales and sinister smiles. Even his feet have been updated from paws to full on claws.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full is where Twinstrike gets to be his own bot though. Like his fellow Predacons, Twinstrike’s head still has that animalistic feel. His torso and legs look much more robotic though. Even his clawed feet twist around to form shoes. But his arms are where it gets wild again. They’re just his dragon heads pulled to the side. This gives him a crazy armored look, complete with mouth-hands. Continue to page 2…

<a Twinstrike still holds the homage, just with more vibrant blues and yellows. All these parts are molded in their respective colors, but there are a few painted metallic purple and teal areas that do a great job of highlighting the figure.

Twinstrike comes with one accessory, a “Piston Hammer”. It can also double as an odd shaped gun and has 3mm connector ports that can attach to various parts of his body.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" neck/robot shoulder, his hips, ankles, and both beast mode shoulders also. The bad news is that this still isn’t enough to give him a lot of posing options. In robot mode his arms are too straight to look dynamic, and in beast mode his legs really need knee joints to give him more natural animal-like poses.

<a Twinstrike is a nice update to a G1 character that hasn’t seen anything since his original figure. Even though I’d prefer to have a larger figure of his character, his small stature doesn’t bother me since he still looks good with his fellow dragons. Also as an added bonus and homage to the original Sinnertwin, Twinstrike is the first of a group of Cyberverse Predacons
