the God of Thunder, has a similar muscular look to his celestial counterpart, with the exception that he tends to be portrayed with more monkey-like facial features. Raijin is typically seen surrounded by small drums, which he beats to cause thunder. He is also known as Raiden, and was even credited for saving Japan long ago for foiling an invading Mongol horde by throwing lightning arrows down at them.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full a large battle between the demons and thirty three gods. Raijin and Fujin were eventually captured and changed their ways to now serve heaven.

<a their shared history, I also wanted to review these two figures together because they share the exact same body. The arms, legs, and torsos on both of these figures are the same. It’s easier to see when you have the two standing next to each other, but these two are a perfect example of how a few nicely detailed original pieces can go a long way in creating an entirely new character with its own personality.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter helps that these bodies are entirely new to the Takeya line. When compared to their earlier Buddhist counterparts, you can definitely see that these two gods, even without all that armor, are built much bulkier. No wonder it took 33 gods to take them down.

<img decoding="async" a much lighter complexion of white with gold highlights. This, coupled with his grinning face, give him a much happier appearance. Definitely makes me think he must love to make noise. I can also see a bit of that monkey influence with that wild facial hair and large forward facing ears. His hair is equally as windblown, but his horns seem much less menacing and more ornamental.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full knees, and ankles. Their torso joint is just a double ball joint, and I’m pretty sure their neck joint is the same, but I can’t quite tell. All the joints move freely and are unhampered by the clothing because of how loosely it was sculpted to look. One thing you do want to watch out for is the loose gold bands around their wrists and ankles. It’s definitely easy to lose track of one while switching out pieces or if a joint pops out accidentally.

<a Both also come with the usual orange box and boomerang shaped Revoltech stand.

Aside from the alternate pieces, each figure comes with his signature piece. Fujin’s bag of wind is represent wind/clouds/whatever gods in the sky stand on. Fujin’s base is a bit tame compared to his partner’s though. He just kind of stands there as Raijin rocks out with his
