(Those silver biceps and knees just clash too much with the gold.) So I waited. Then they released pictures of a repainted Mark VI where the silver was colored gold. That version was very tempting, but ultimately I decided against it because it was an exclusive and cost more than I was willing to pay.

<a stubbornness eventually paid off and Kaiyodo finally produced my favorite movie armor, the mark III. But this figure had other selling points as well. He came with an alternate to.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-17691" little bits of paint started to chip and scratch just while I was posing him for the review. The paint has that thick gummy feel to it and I don’t have much confidence that it’ll last just soft plastic that bend out of the way. His knees are double revolver joints, while his hips are a swivel/hinge. Lastly, the armor around his forearms and thighs can swivel. fingers together.

The one accessory I was really looking forward to was the Robert Downey Jr. head. In the preorder pictures it looked a bit anime styled, and I guess it still kind of does. But I don’t think it looks very much like RDJ anymore. The sculpt makes his cheeks look chubby, and his head to look too large overall. What really bothers me is goatee that looks like it was scribbled onto his face with a marker.

<img decoding="async" cooler things about this figure is that the battery in the center of his chest lights up. The battery is turned on by a tiny switch inside chest. This allows you to leave it on for as long as you’d like, which was really a bonus while taking pictures. The light is also super bright and is a bit hard to look directly at. This is a nice feature that they’ve added, and I wouldn’t mind seeing a War Machine with a light up chest in the future.

<img turned out pretty awful, and mine’s already beginning to chip paint. If you really want this figure, I’d suggest shopping around for a sale or clearance because full price is way too
