<\/a>LEGO Minifigures Wave Six has been showing up all over the last couple weeks. Thanks to my local ToysRUs I was able to snag a complete set with relatively little hassle this time around. We have our decoder ready to go, but this time it\u2019s we\u2019re doing things a little differently.<\/p>\n

Just like last time, the minifigures are more difficult to decipher since The LEGO Group now changes the dot patterns between batches. You can find the batch number stamped onto each bag in the area where the dots appear. This time our decoder is good for batch 443B1<\/B>.<\/p>\n

This set is packaged in a white box and bags. Even though I was a bit disappointed with the lack of classic Universal-type monsters, I was happy to get plenty of fantasy creatures instead. There also seemed to be a bit of a 50’s theme with a few of the characters, which will be interesting if they continue with it. A LEGO Milkman would be pretty cool.<\/p>\n

#1 Classic Alien<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nThis alien is modeled after the classic Gray. His head is an entirely new sculpt with large bulbous eyes and a stone cold expression. I always thought Grays were short in stature, so it\u2019s interesting to see him as the same size as a normal figure. Something else very strange about him, he\u2019s apparently wearing gloves. The Gray comes with a white ray gun and a green beam. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the ray gun. Just make sure there\u2019s no large helmet from the Intergalactic Girl.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#2 Highland Battler<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nIt\u2019s pretty obvious the Highland Battler is modeled after the famous Highlander, Connor MacLeod. His long hair and screaming face are a little similar to Christopher Lambert\u2019s, but it\u2019s really the costume design that sells it. Like Connor, our Battler wears a similar plaid tunic and armor pieces. I kind of wish they also added a cape, but we did get a cool new broadsword mold which puts those old LEGO swords to shame. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the long sword and round shield.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#3 Sleepy Head<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nThis Sleepy Head kid reminds me quite a bit of Little Nemo, and I\u2019m wondering if it\u2019s on purpose. He\u2019s got a very simple design with just striped pajamas, but he does come with two faces. One is asleep, the other is barely awake. What I really like is his new mussed up hair. It has a really interesting spiked effect. This kid’s only accessory is his teddy bear. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the lumpy teddy bears arms.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#4 Lady Liberty<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nI never expected to see the Statue of Liberty as a LEGO minifig, but I\u2019m really glad they made her. Not only do we get an interesting statue-colored dress design, but she comes with a great crown\/hairpiece. I would love to see it colored for a normal figure in the future. The Lady also comes with her torch and tablet. Oddly, the torch is fire colored instead of statue colored. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the triangular dress piece and large hair\/crown.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#5 Bandit<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nThe Bandit is my fourth favorite minifig from this series, just because I love the expression on his face. His cocky smile and facial hair remind me of Val Kilmer\u2019s Doc Holliday in the movie Tombstone. This Bandit\u2019s also heavily armed with plenty of bandoliers of ammo, and even a gun belt below his waist. Now if they could just make a new cowboy hat instead of using the Indiana Jones over again. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the two small pistols.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#6 Flamenco Dancer<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nA Flamenco Dancer is an interesting choice for a minifigure. She\u2019s got an interesting dress design, but there isn\u2019t much new here. We\u2019ve seen both this hairpiece and fan before. One reason why I do like her is because I\u2019m assuming she\u2019ll get a partner sometime in the future. A little latin Lego man will look awesome with his suave mustache and slicked back hair. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the triangular dress piece. Just make sure she doesn’t have the large crown\/hair piece of Lady Liberty.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#7 Clockwork Robot<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nMy second favorite minifigure of the series is the Robot. I love that he has a retro style look that harkens back to the old tin windup toys. They even included a key piece that fits onto his back! I also love that his head is square, which is something you don\u2019t see often on LEGO figures. Plus, the printing on his body makes him one of the more detailed figures in the set. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for his square head or the “L” shaped piece the key connects to.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#8 Minotaur<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nMy favorite figure in Series 6 is the Minotaur. I love fantasy and historical LEGOs, and this half-man\/half-bull is right up both alleys. The head has a really nice detailed sculpt that resembles LEGO\u2019s cow, while still bringing its own unique look. The printing on this figure is also great, with his puffy chest hair, hooves, and large expressive eyes. You can even remove the horns if you want. The Minotaur also comes with an axe accessory.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#9 Leprechaun<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nThe Leprechaun is another character I never thought they\u2019d make, but I\u2019m sure glad they did. He\u2019s a great new addition for the fantasy cast or just the regular City theme. He\u2019s got some nice original printing on his chest, but it\u2019s the green top hat that I like most. The Leprechaun comes with a brand new pot and three gold colored studs to put in it. Unfortunately I don\u2019t have a picture of the pot because I misplaced it. Now my poor Leprechaun has no place to put his money. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the top hat.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#10 Roman Soldier<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nThe Roman Soldier is another great addition to the historical themes. There\u2019s a lot of nice print work on his armor, and even his shield. He comes with the now familiar long spear, but also has a new helmet and shield (known as a scutum). I hope we\u2019ll be seeing more Romans in the future, maybe a few centurions with the red plumage on their helmets? Decoding Tip<\/strong>: It’s easiest to feel for the Soldier’s long spear.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

#11 Surgeon<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nThe Surgeon is a plain looking character, but accurate for what she is. Her clothing pieces are the classic blue scrubs with printed wrinkles. Her face has a surgical mask on, and she has a new hairnet like piece for a hat. She comes with a needle, but I don\u2019t know why. Wouldn\u2019t a scalpel be more accurate? She also has a translucent tile of an X-Ray that shows a broken rib bone on a LEGO skeleton. A very nice touch. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the needle or her flat X-ray piece.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#12 Skater Girl<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nThe Skater Girl has an interesting look. There\u2019s a cocky smile on her face and a purple streak in her hair that shows you she\u2019s a bit dangerous. Her shirt and her skateboard are both decorated with a LEGO skull wearing a pink bow. Unfortunately my girl\u2019s skateboard is with my Leprechaun\u2019s pot, so I can\u2019t show it at the moment. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the large skateboard.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#13 Intergalactic Girl<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nThe Intergalactic Girl has an interesting pink female twist on the new minifigure space suit. This gives me a feeling that she\u2019s a bold adventurer that still likes girly things. She\u2019s got a self-assured smile on her face, similar to her male counterpart, but hers is pulled off with a splash of silver lipstick. The Space Girl comes with a ray gun and a blue beam. She also has a blonde hair piece for when you want her to take the helmet off. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the large round helmet or its curved face shield.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#14 Butcher<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nLike the Robot, the Butcher reminds me of someone who stepped out of the 1950s. I love his new paper hat, meat cleaver, and the large T-bone steak. He\u2019s also got this great happy look on his face like he doesn\u2019t have a care in the world besides chopping meat. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the unique shape of the meat cleaver or T-bone steak.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#15 Mechanic<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nThis LEGO Mechanic also feels like another character from the 50’s, or maybe someone from the movie Grease. He’s got a great new hair piece that has a rockabilly poof and duck tails in the back. He comes with classic LEGO wrench, but a new toolbox. I was a bit disappointed that the toolbox doesn’t open though. Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for the wrench or the rectangular toolbox.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
#16 Genie<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nThis Genie looks an awful lot like a certain Disney character. It probably doesn’t help that he’s a vibrant blue color, but it looks really good on him. I love his curly ghostlike “legs”, and the fact that they plug perfectly into the lamp is just fantastic. This Genie is definitely one of my favorites. I wonder if we’ll get a wicked Red Genie in the future? Decoding Tip<\/strong>: Feel for his curvy lower body or the lamp, which has two handle-like sides.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

There are a couple of bags we had a difficult time deciphering, and we noted them on the decoder.<\/p>\n

If you save this decoder and print it from a picture viewing program \u201cas is\u201d (no enlarging\/scaling to fit) it should print to scale with the packages to let you compare between the decoder and the packages easier. Unlike our previous decoders, this one is two pages instead of one.<\/p>\n

The LEGO Group has made things a bit difficult with their randomizing the dot patterns, so we thought we’d try something a little different and add a Feel Guide to the cheat sheet. With Manekochan’s help we’ve placed silhouettes of the accessories next to their figures bump decoder. The silhouettes are roughly 1:1 scale with the accessories so you can compare sizes with what you’re feeling in the bag. We didn’t list all the accessories, but the ones we thought would be most helpful in deciphering the figure you want. <\/p>\n

With LEGO taking more extreme measures to ensure that we can’t decode the packages, we will have to rely more and more on deciphering them through feel. So let us know how this new method works out for you.<\/p>\n
