\"\"<\/a>After a couple of weeks hunting, I was finally able to pounce on a fresh Transformers Prime case at my local Toys R Us.\u00a0 Arcee was already on my to-buy list, but Starscream was just too tempting to leave behind.\u00a0 And now I\u2019m going to gush about him.<\/p>\n

Transformers Prime Starscream is your typical Starscream archetype.\u00a0 Megatron\u2019s second in command, he wiles away the hours plotting ways to seize command of the Decepticons.\u00a0 He\u2019s also still a coward, resorting to battle only when forced into it or when he thinks his side has the upper hand.\u00a0 He\u2019s not as whiney as G1 Starscream though, which I\u2019m definitely glad for.\u00a0 He\u2019s also a bit more dangerous and less comical, even becoming dangerous when backed into a corner by the Autobots.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been pretty impressed with the Prime toys so far.\u00a0 The designers have done a fantastic job with folding a decent sized robot into a vehicle that\u2019s much smaller than you\u2019d expect.\u00a0 The real amazing part is that both robot and vehicle modes are generally spot on.\u00a0 I loved Arcee, and even liked Bumblebee enough to not get rid of him.\u00a0 Now with Starscream, I know I\u2019ll be fighting the urge to pick up as many Prime characters as I can find.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I really love Starscream\u2019s thin and sharp design.\u00a0 Even the Transformers Animated Starscream had a little bulk to him, but Prime Starscream almost has that same feminine look that they gave to Arcee.\u00a0 Of course it doesn\u2019t help matters much that he has real high-heels and not just jet thrusters.\u00a0 Also, his super long fingers give him a delicate yet creepy appearance.\u00a0 I\u2019ll be very interested to see the rest of the Seekers in this style.\u00a0 It also gives me hope that we may finally get a Slipstream with such a feminine design.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Starscream\u2019s head sculpt is also great.\u00a0 Like the other Prime figures, those robot lips don\u2019t come off as wrong looking on an actual 3D representation.\u00a0 In particular I love Starscream\u2019s half smile\/sneer.\u00a0 It goes really well with his devious looking eyes.\u00a0 And I never noticed this until I had the toy, but he actually has some very large and menacing eyebrows.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the spike that goes up the middle of my Starscream\u2019s head is smashed and a bit bent at the top.\u00a0 There\u2019s no way to see this from the package since he\u2019s in jet mode, but I don\u2019t actually mind it too much.\u00a0 I think it gives him a bit of crooked charm.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Starscream\u2019s paint job is mostly made up of molded pieces that are either light gray or a dark bluish gray.\u00a0 These dull colors are broken up by some metalics and the striking red and blue highlights.\u00a0 One thing I found interesting is the face on his chest.\u00a0 There are actually pupils sculpted into the two eyes.\u00a0 Continue to page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n

Starscream has fantastic articulation, on par with Arcee\u2019s.\u00a0 His head, shoulders, and hips are all ball joints.\u00a0 He has swivel biceps and a waist.\u00a0 His elbows and wrists are double hinged, while his knees and ankles are single hinged.\u00a0 The figure already hunches forward slightly in robot mode, with the rest of these joints he can easily bow in subservience.\u00a0 His double jointed wrists also make for great gesturing and give the toy quite a bit of personality.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t usually care much about a Transformers\u2019 vehicle mode, but Starscream\u2019s jet is equally as fun to play around with.\u00a0 Even though there\u2019s a bit of leg kibble on the bottom, I\u2019m still impressed how such a tall figure can crumple down into such a small jet.\u00a0 The jet itself looks terrifically sleek and I think it\u2019s a great update to the bulkier G1 design, and it definitely blows the flat triangular movie design away.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Starscream comes with two accessories:\u00a0 two missile racks, each holding three missiles.\u00a0 These missiles are designed to connect under his wings in jet mode, or onto his forearms in robot mode.\u00a0 They\u2019re a bit bulky in robot mode for me, and I really wish the individual missiles were removable, but in jet mode they\u2019re perfect.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Even if you\u2019re not a huge Starscream fan, you still might want to consider picking this figure up.\u00a0 Not only does he have a unique design, but the amount of personality that the articulation brings to this figure is insanely cool.\u00a0 I already know I\u2019ve been suckered into buying any of the other Sweeps they make.<\/p>\n
