<\/a>It\u2019s time for Transformers Reviews Catch-up!\u00a0 I don\u2019t know how it happens, but we always seem to be running a bit behind when it comes to Transformers.\u00a0 Today\u2019s review is about one of the coolest looking Autobots that ever KABLAMMED! his way onto the scene, Generations Warpath.<\/p>\n

I remember seeing Warpath as a kid and instantly falling in love with his design.\u00a0 After all, tanks are cool.\u00a0 But Warpath was more than just your ordinary tank Transformer.\u00a0 In my mind this bot was so hard core that even in robot mode he still had his barrel primed and ready.\u00a0 To me he wasn\u2019t so much a robot that could turn into a tank, but a tank that could walk around like a robot.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The funny thing is I don\u2019t remember ever hearing Warpath as a kid.\u00a0 His personality was a blank slate to me until a couple years ago I started rewatching some of the old G1 cartoons.\u00a0 As a tank I expected him to be loud and even a bit blustery, but what I didn\u2019t expect is that he was also insane.\u00a0 Not really crazy-insane, more like make-my-own-sound-effects-while-I-talk-insane.\u00a0 There are a lot of personality quirks in the Autobots camp, but I think Warpath may win the top KABLOOM! prize when it comes to eccentricity.\u00a0 Not that I mind.\u00a0 When I get tired of him I can just turn off the DVD, but I don\u2019t know how the Autobots handle it.\u00a0 I can\u2019t even imagine fighting alongside this guy for thousands of KAXOWY! years.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The figure itself does a great job of combining Warpath\u2019s original look with his more recent Legends H-tank toy form.\u00a0 His bot mode is perfect.\u00a0 He\u2019s got this great square and bulky look that makes him much more imposing than his previous incarnations.\u00a0 His head is also much sleeker and menacing.\u00a0 It kind of reminds me of something you\u2019d see on a GI Joe.\u00a0 One thing I was a bit disappointed with is that black plastic was used for the back of his head where the lightpiping would be.\u00a0 It\u2019s not too big a deal, but his eyes are so recessed that it would have been nice to see them glow a bit.<\/p>\n

Warpath\u2019s tank mode is also really great.\u00a0 Even though the original figure was cool, I\u2019m a much bigger fan of the H-tank.\u00a0 It\u2019s just got much more of a threatening look to it, like a cat that\u2019s about to pounce.\u00a0 I don\u2019t even mind that he\u2019s so much smaller than tanks like Bludgeon, because he still looks powerful enough to make it a fair fight.\u00a0 Continue to page 2…<\/a><\/p>\n

Warpath\u2019s paint apps are pretty simple.\u00a0 He\u2019s mostly molded in dark gray and maroon, which is a nice callback to his original colors.\u00a0 But what really stands out on this guy are the bits of silver and gold used to highlight his design.\u00a0 These metallic colors really pop against the dark red and gray.<\/p>\n

Something else I really loved about his paint apps was the inclusion of the serial numbers \u201cZOW-333\u201d and \u201cK4-90W\u201d on his sides.\u00a0 These are a great allusion to his ZOWEEE and KAPOW expletives while still looking military enough to actually be on a tank.<\/p>\n

Something else that\u2019s a vast improvement over the original figure is that this Warpath has a huge range of movement.\u00a0 Even with his bulky body he\u2019s able to some really great action stances.\u00a0 His shoulders are swivel\/hinges, while his elbows and knees are hinge joints.\u00a0 He\u2019s got swivel cuts on his biceps and thighs, while his hips are ball joints.\u00a0 Sadly, his head is only a swivel joint.\u00a0 I would have really loved to see it on a ball joint, but it\u2019s definitely not a deal breaker.<\/p>\n

His articulation continues in tank mode also.\u00a0 His gun barrel can pivot up and down while the turret can spin a complete 360 degrees.<\/p>\n

Warpath doesn\u2019t come with any hand weapons, but do you really need them when he\u2019s got a giant gun sticking out of his chest and two more mounted on his shoulders?<\/p>\n

I\u2019m really happy with this figure.\u00a0 The worst part about him is that he\u2019s actually Noisy\u2019s, and I\u2019m unfortunately going to have to give him back.\u00a0 Now I have to redouble my efforts to find one of my own though.\u00a0 After getting to play around with him I\u2019m definitely going to need him for my collection.<\/p>\n
