G.I. Joe Adventure Team!!

So the Adventure Team sets are exclusive to the GI Joe Collectors Club?

Anyone a member? How easy is it for a non member to get an exclusive piece?

I have never been a big fan of GI Joe so I have done no research on the club. I may need some help here because these sets really connect with my childhood.

I'm in-between on if these will be difficult to obtain or not. On the one hand, there should be plenty because the club stuff rarely sells out. On the other hand, the positive press on these is off the scale.

Anyway, they tier their exclusives at three prices - paying member, free member, non-member. At the very least, Tek, I'd head on over to http://www.gijoeclub.com/ and become a Trooper (free membership). That will get you into the forums and some affiliation with what's going on.

In the long run, I'm thinking of joining anyway because it's only $40 to sign up. By itself, that'd be a lot, but the discounts are usually good for paying members and I'm betting that I'll save a good chunk of the $40 across the sets. Plus, you can get a free Big Lob or Urban Adevnturer (?) and then the magazine/newsletter if you're a paying member before the 16th.

Vault is a genius.

We want the AT sets and we think it's better to be in the club because you'll like save as much money as the club costs, so may as well get the newletters and the free figure, right?

But neither of really wanted Big Lob. Still, we felt the pressure to order before today.

Then, lightning struck Vault. He realized that if we wait and join the club tomorrow (or later) we would get the NEXT Club figure. It probably won't be better than Big Lob - but it could be!

I'm not impressed with that Big Lob figure.

Feels like a figure to make just to make him, to say "Fine, fanboys, we made stupid Big Lob, are you happy?"

I think that's exactly what it is.

I doubt next year's will be all that exciting. It will undoubtedly be O-ring since the Club can't let that go (the AT is 25th only because it has to be), so I probably won't want it either.

I still wish I got the rest of the Argentinians when I was at Joecon, but I wasn't prepared to buy anything there.

Admittedly, I've been unable to pick any of these up despite wanting them particularly badly, but since I'm going to try and scrounge up an extra $40 (GLC2, Hssss, & BA Skeletor are all right around the deadliine) to join the Club this year for Dial-Tone, I'll be able to pick up the AT at the discounted prices!


Anyway, I can't believe we didn't talk about the Sea Adventurer.



I wish they could've used the original sub we saw waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back at JoeCon '09, but his manta-thing is fine.



I need more monies. And Hasbro or the Club needs to update the 40th anniversary Joes too. The 60th anniversary is just a few years away...
